Ran across this blog , curingcoldfeet that is not about stage fright or getting married but actually about travel. Thanks to a mishap in some emails, I got this referral for a great little hotel in the least likeliest of places that I would ever think to go– Louisviille, Kentucky!!
21c Museum Hotel, a contemporary art museum and exceptional boutique hotel
Julie Sturgeon, writer, blogger extraordinaire, writes a ditty about this great hotel after having had to attend a funeral and needing a place to decompress. (Totally necessary!)
She remembered hearing about this boutique hotel, 21c Museum Hotel that was in Louisville so she scouted it out and found a real gem!
Here’s what their website says:
21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, KY is the first of its kind — a 90-room hotel dedicated to world class luxuries, Southern-style hospitality and contemporary art from living artists, exhibited throughout its galleries and public space. Among the many upscale offerings: iPods with a wide variety of music for guests’ listening pleasure, award winning design and décor, poster art, 42″ HDTV flat screen televisions, WiFi, 500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets imported from Italy crowning the exquisite bedding, silver mint julep cups, gourmet coffee makers, mini-bar refrigerators, Malin + Goetz bath amenities, and nightly turn down and Concierge services. The hotel also offers a full exercise facility with a steam room, sauna and spa services. And, of course, penguins.
We dig Malin & Goetzs bath products. YUM!!
Why check out Curing Cold Feet? Julie gives you a few really really good reasons why:
1. It won’t cost you a dime to use Curing Cold Feet as your travel agency.
2. Many times, Curing Cold Feet can land you a hidden deal. ( that’s worth it’s weight — yours or mine — in gold)
3. When Curing Cold Feet does the research, that’s time you can spend on other hobbies and family activities.
4. Whether we research your options or you scout out the deal, if Curing Cold Feet books the reservation, you just gained a friend who will champion your cause in the big world of travel.
Sounds good to me and when I next have a problem booking into NYC or some other interesting place, I know where to turn. (as in “who ya goin’ to call” — sorry Ghostbusters, but you don’t do travel the way Sturgeon does)
Both the hotel and the Cure Cold Feet blog deserve your attention!
