When one is in need of help for a “red carpet moment”, what does one do? They do what Kelly Rutherford of Gossip Girls does and turns to Dior Beauty’s Karl Giant (whom I have interviewed before) and celebrity hairstylist, Patrick Melville of Patrick Melville Salon. They turned this lovely lady into a glam goddess for the Dior Beauty Gossip Girl cocktail party at the Empire Hotel Rooftop Lounge!!

Since Kelly was wearing an open, floral Dior dress, Patrick was inspired to create a simple, elegant chignon.
His one (and only) key product: L’Oreal Elnet.
He first lightly sprayed all of her hair with Elnet and then used a one-and-a-half inch curling iron to create texture all throughout the hair and around the face. Once he created a slightly messy texture, he pulled her hair back in a low ponytail and teased it softly to create movement. He then twisted it into a messy chignon and broke up the look in the front with his fingers to create light wisps so it wasn’t overly structured.
Once he achieved a textured look from front to back, he finished it off with a last spray of Elnet.
