We have just finished up the Emmys and you might be wondering how all these women and men look so great. Summer is often downtime for actors and they get any “treatments’ that they need during that time. However based on the buzz I have heard, there[s something new out there in the “treatment market that will
– refresh and brighten a complexion,
-reduce acne scarring and hyperpigmentation due to sun damage or melasma (pregnancy)
– refine the skintone
– create a bit more tightness, firmness to the face
-smooth out some of those fine lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth (note I said *fine* lines)
What treatments seem to be the most popular? Peels!! One of the newest, easiest and fastest treatments is a new spin on a peel called V.I. PEEL

What to expect from this peel:
Recovery is about 7-10 days depending on how much sluffing or peeling is occuring and how sensitive your skin is. Typically most are fine within 7 days or less. The miracle here is that you can use it on olive and darker toned skins without causing uneven pigmentation. It’s AMAZING!

Does it burn?
A. Not really. Patients will feel a slight stinging sensation for a few seconds which subsides completely almost immediately. The peel is applied topically, numbing of the skin takes place after the first pass. Some patients may feel more comfortable using a fan or cold air breeze.
Q. How badly will the patient peel?
A. The skin peeling associated with the Vi Peel is a light, fluffy peel that will start on day three and generally be finished by the end of day four. The peeling is easily hidden by moisturizer. In some cases, the peel is virtually invisible.
Q. What will the patient look like right after the Vi Peel and during the next few days?
A. The skin will look slightly tan to red immediately after the peel. On days one and two the skin will feel slightly tighter with no visible signs of having a peel except for looking slightly tan, as if the patient just returned from a relaxing weekend at a resort. Any pigmented areas might appear slightly darker, which is a good sign. On about day three, the patient begins to peel.
The first signs of peeling usually begin around the mouth area, continuing for a day or two. With the use of the Vi Derm™ moisturizer, patients go about their usual daily routine. By day six or day seven the patient is done peeling and the results are dramatic!
Q. What about normal activities after the Vi Peel?
A. There are no restrictions. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after the peel.
Q. What will the Vi Peel do for the patient’s skin?
A. It uses the synergy of all available and known modes of action of various acids to produce a multitude of positive effects. It tackles skin problems at the cellular level rather than just burning skin off. Thanks to the concerted actions of its many acids and vitamins, it will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, shrink enlarged pores and build collagen and elastin which tighten skin. Want to know what I think? I went through 2 peels with Dr. Kalil — that were terrific. The first one was good, but my skin is very sensitive so it peeled and peeled for almost 8 days.
The second one did a lot more and it peeled on day four and kept on peeling for just about 8 days. These peels were about 6-8 weeks apart.
About 3 months later I found out that my favorite medical aesthetician Sharon Shelton who told me she was doing the VI Peel for about $400 dollars. I signed up immediately and booked a dermaplaning (which is a slight scraping of the skin with a surgical blade to get all the dead skin off first and allow the peel to go deeper).
Sharon was impressed at how much lighter and better my skin looked.

I turned bright red after the peel — I always do. I have highly sensitive skin with rosacea and so I go “red”. In less than 4 days, I was peeling and peeling fast!! I was done peeling in 6 days and my skin looked amazingly great.
I have had numerous IPL treatments for rosacea and those lasers didn’t come close to accomplishing what these 3 peels did with at least a dozen IPL treatments.
Did you get that? Do the math people!!
Even if the peels were $500 each, 3x 500 = $1500.
One IPL treatment is just about that much and required up to 2 weeks of recovery time but the results were minimal compared to the peels. The V.I.Peels are flat out better. If you find that one didn’t give you the full effect, go for another one. Consider me one of the most difficult cases- because I know I am and I am super-pleased and almost 6 months later, people still complement me on how great my skin looks.
