Celebrity Style Slam: Who Did It Better: Holly Hunter or Marcia Cross?

Michaela Jedinak , UK Stylist, and co-creator of the Celebrity Style Slam gives us her evaluation of style or fashion sense worn by various celebrities at the 2008 Emmys! Michaela comments regularly on a variety of current celebrities at events or about town and how their style chalks up in her typical “call them as she sees them” manner.
Michaela has covered celebrity styles for LA-Story.com for the Academy Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, Grammys, SAG Awards red carpet reviews and the Gucci/Madonna Party at NYFW!) . Check out her site: www.joyofcolour.com
Celebrities Reviewed: Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives) and Holly Hunter (Saving Grace)
Holly Hunter

Color: The colour is not wrong for her, but since it is such a strong colour, she needs to sharpen and glamorize her look by wearing a more structured and defined hairstyle and make up.
Body Shape: The shape of the dress is fantastic though for her figure.
It accentuates her long neck, highlights her décolleté and shows off a her long waist. The detail at her waist is perfect and sits in perfect proportion.
Style: This all natural beauty look “a la Jennifer Aniston “doesn’t cut it at her age when she is wearing this distinct a colour at such an event. It is aging and– to be honest–she looks a bit messy.
She looks very unfinished since she didn’t accessorize with bracelets, bag or stronger earrings to complement her dress. The entire ensemble doesn’t look current. She could be attending an event in the 80’s or 90’s. It doesn’t shout 2008. Even if you go for a natural look, you need to follow the rules and use other ways to accessorize, e.g. hairstyle and/or bag to give it an ” in the moment” effect. It is a shame the result is not better since she has a great figure that should be so easy to style.
Overall Rating: 2** Two Stars

Marcia Cross

Color: Wow, wow, wow- she did it again- absolutely stunning and perfect in every sense and way! The colour is fantastic for her pale skin and red hair.
Style This type and shape of a dress that reminds one of a ballerina dress is worn just in perfection. In line with a “prima ballerina” she wears her hair pulled back, tones her shoes with the dress and wears very discreet accessories not to overwhelm the look, but enough to give it a bit of sparkle to underline her groomed look.
Body Shape: The dress fits like a glove on her body and gives way to beautiful shoulders, décolleté, bust, waist and ankles. This is a perfect example of someone who owns the dress and look by making it her own. Her look is as well current by wearing a little clutch bag in a contrasting colour.
Overall Rating: 6****** Six Stars!! (What a rave from Michaela!!)
