As we all know (and if you don’t where have you been?) , Indiana Jones is back — albeit a bit more grey and a bit rusty around the edges but with hat and jacket intact!
When Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hit theaters this summer there were a ton of people there to see it. Even on a Sunday one full week later at 11 AM, the theater was packed!!
If you didn’t see it, I am not going to spoil it, but it follows true to form with Jones being back in the classroom and then being sent off on an adventure– only to find out there is young man who has to “go along” on this. There are lots of fun stunts but if you are looking for the substantive Indiana Jones of the first and third movies, you aren’t going to find it here.
This particular movie pulls riffs from The Mummy I and II , The Scorpion King. and others. While I was watching the movie in the theater with my husband, we were whispering back and forth about where bits and pieces of the plot and special effects were ripped from– and truly there were about 4-5 movies that had the original “adventure effects”. However if you are a true Indiana Jones fan– like I am– then you will want the special 2 -disk DVD set that is now available on Amazon.com and other major retailers.
Now it’s currently available on DVD and you can get it at Amazon.com
