Glam.com definitely wanted to get in on the action at the Governor’s Conference for Women in Long Beach, CA. With 14 thousand women (not counting brands, booths, and participants in discussions) attending, this was one place to
1) get the pulse of what women think
2) get energized by a ton of large corps and small businesses that were focused on women
3) get some great information from various seminars involving many notable people
and for me, it was a chance to hang with TheShoeGoddess.com blogger, Florence, BagSnob.com’s Kelly, WhenTaraMetBlog.com’s Tara and all the fab Glam people.
TheShoeGoddess.com’s Florence is really a shoe goddess. She had great shoes and I love her blog because she pairs up shoes with specific fashions and while she loves the $$$$ shoes, she also picks up on the great styles at bargain prices!
Her post on the Conference is one you should check out as she– like Tara– attended many conferences and listened to a lot of interesting people like Maria Shriver who did a luncheon speech about her own personal fears.
Florence particularly reference Paige Donner’s interview with Shriver so hit the blog and see the link to it on the Huffington Post site.
A quote from TheShoeGoddess.com blog post epitomizes the point of the conference!
Be Who You Are” was the theme Maria Shriver chose for this year’s Governor’s and First Lady’s Conference. And it is our duty as women to be the architect of our time. For too long, we have empowered men, by letting them lead the world as political leaders, as financial experts, and so much more, and the result is not good. So it is about time to reclaim the world, and together we change its shape.
Florence who is so much more gorge than this in real life. Check her bio for the real scoop on her shoes!!
Check out the post from TheShoeGoddess.com’s blog because there’s some great comments about Jennifer Lopez conversation as well as those women who won the Minerva Awards!
