Kevan Hall, Mikimoto & Author Jodi Wing "Pop-Up" in Malibu Lumber Yard !

It’s very common these days to have short “pop-up” stores show up in various cities and venues, particularly in Southern California– from Palm Springs/Palm Desert to Malibu and several points between.

partnered up with Mikimoto Jewelry for a pop-up store in Malibu Lumber Yard (a relatively new addition to the shopping landscape in the ‘bu).

What’s noteworthy about this pop-up store was the fun event held on the Saturday hosted by Jodi Wing, author of The Art of Social War to benefit a charity, No Dog Left Behind. It was a casual party, meaning there was no one at the door checking to see if you were on the list and anyone –and everyone- could get in the door to peruse the fabulous fashions and delicious jewelry.
Looking at designer Kevan Hall’s collection and finding gorgeous things for red carpet but also find things that work for “right now” for summer:

What’s unmistakeable is the design elements and tailoring that goes into every Kevan Hall piece that seems to love the curves of a woman’s body.

Mikimoto partnered up with Kevan Hall because they are both timeless in design and yet contemporary in presentation and while you might have thought that Mikimoto is only strands of pearls, darlin’ you must take another look at the amazing designs that are so gorgeously cutting edge and even funky “rocker chick”-ish in presentation.

Mikimoto’s gorgeous dark pearls that are stunning as they will work as easily with a tee and jeans as they do with dressier pieces.

Snagging a chance to talk to Designer Kevan Hall is always lovely.

The party/trunk show featured in this post and in tomorrow’s post was on a Saturday in June to benefit No Dog Left Behind, a rescue organization that takes high risk dogs from So. California shelters and sends them to other states (Oregon, Washington for example) where there is a greater demand for rescue dogs and not so stringent “kill rates”.

This event was to raise awareness and funds for the organization courtesy of author Jodi Wing’s donation of her Art of Social War books (all profits donated to the charity) — and fabulously personal appearance– at the pop-up store.
Make sure you check out tomorrow’s post with a second video where we talk to Jodi Wing and Dawn Moore from Mikimoto about jewelry, books and benefits!!
