De-stress Your Life: Soap and a Soak Can Wash Away Your Blues!

Life is pretty stressful right now for most people. It’s back to school time, the price of gas is going up (again– at least here in So. Calif!); groceries have gone up in price and quite frankly, Plus the computer went into melt-down thanks to a worm and then the deadlines to be met- there’s a lot on the plate. There are many of you in the same predicament and what do you do to decompress and de-stress your life?
Personally I am finding that my stress-beaters go in two different directions. Hanging out with friends having coffee or grabbing a movie with them. The other direction is more cost-effective and more solitary and that involves cranking up the bath tub filling it with epsom salts and a tweak of essential oil. An important element to me — and to others who are into the personal spa treatments is the products that one uses. I personally choose to use more organic products for the treatment effect and fresh scent.
It took me a long time to do this review because I fell in love with each soap and had trouble “movin’ on” to the next soap. So it took a while– but I am finally gone through the four soaps.
A great place to check online for great organic soaps, bath and body products is the TheJoyofSoap.com
Not only are the soaps organic but vegan and really really great quality.
All of our soaps are hand cut so the exact weight of each bar may vary slightly.
All soaps begin with a base of certified organic olive, coconut, and palm oils plus castor oil mixed with therapeutic grade essential oils, organic or sustainably wild-crafted exfoliants, and nothing else.
2oz. bars, $3.50 each 5oz. bars, $7.50 each
Here are 4 that I have tried and would *highly* recommend for the quality and versatility of these specific soaps and the line as a whole.
Elizabeth’s Wild Hair Shaving Soap

Here’s the story behind this soap:

She told us she liked to use our soaps for shaving purposes, and suggested we make one especially designed for this important function that incorporates the medicinal qualities of willow bark. (think anti-bacterial here) She has credibility – she’s a top notch acupuncturist who knows her stuff. End result – groovy shaving soap. You’ll love it for getting rid of those wild hairs without the bumps afterwards. (and you know exactly what I’m talking about). (peppermint essential oil, medium ground pumice, willowbark powder)

This is a great soap for shaving and it does everything it says it does– and it rocks. It’s a great soap and guys would love this but girls would KILL for this if you don’t wax.
Manly Man

Given what I said about Elizabeth’s soap, here’s a soap made for a man that he can use with serious comfort– but gentle enough for women to use.
Its’ light scents of sweet orange will give you a bit of energy and “snap, crackle, pop” ao you won’t be bored. Mixed with the astringency– and therapeutic– tea tree oil and a touch of pumice to smooth out those manly rough edges. (Includes special manly packaging — taped with duct tape.) (sweet orange and tea tree essential oils; and finely ground pumice)
Feeling Frisky

This is the TheJoyofSoap.com’s classic scent. (Invented by company). It’s a uniquely clever mix of grapefruit and orange plus a dash of calendula flower petals that evoke images of a sensuous lazy spa day with your lover…followed by a “nap.” ( grapefruit and orange essential oils; calendula flower petals)
This is a great soap– and it’s scent isn’t so spa-ish and it’s yet a really softening, fabulous soap. This is a long-lasting soap– really long-lasting and the scent doesn’t deteriorate over time. This is a great soap and it’s a great one to gift a significant other or for a bridal shower gift.
Two in the Shower Tea Tree

Given the drought and economy, it’s more affordable to shower together (nice excuse huh!). Here’s an even better reason to get into the shower toegther– simply because the great fragrance which is lavender and tea tree essential oils; rose fragrance oil; (All new batches made without fragrance oil) and green tea powder. The tea tree oil smells good and is anti-bacterial too — so there. You can’t catch any cooties from each other.
check out their FAQ’s for the details on how long these soaps can last and also check out about customized bars as well. www.thejoyofsoap.com — it is really a joy to use this soap. Anyone and everyone you give it to, will never forget it and will become pleasantly and happily addicted.
