Ouidad Hits LA with New Product and Killer In-Salon Treatment!

Ouidad is known for her great line of products for curly hair. It was the first line I ever tried (or had heard about) for curly hair– and I have seriously curly hair. When I got an invite to hit the Santa Monica salon on Montana for a treatment and product launch, I never say no to Ouidad!

I walked in with my fairly straight hair knowing that it was a real change — and Ouidad hadn’t seen me in over 6 months. It was a shock and I explained why it was straight because of the last cut was essentially 2 layers and thus was giving me a boxy curly look — which isn’t what I wanted and it didn’t look so great. Ouidad suggested the Sun Shield treatment which would put in more protein and nourishment into my hair and then she would clean up the cut to make it work better for the “curly side of life”– since I like to go back and forth between curly and straight.
The Sun Shield Treatment meant time under the dryer but I didn’t mind since it gave me time to decompress from the race up the freeway! Plus I got to check out some magazines and find 3 perfect colors featured on six pages of a fashion spread. (nice– now I know what to buy and where to find it). I could feel the treatment had done its’ job when I got rinsed out and it felt smooth, silky and easy to comb.

The cool part was the new comb — the Double Detangler — the Ouidad invented to help all of us curly girls detangle our hair and rake & shake out the curls.

After my hair was trimmed down (and Ouidad has cut my hair several times), I was diffused and then was treated to a touch-up courtesy of Jane Iredale— whose products are a real treat! Walked away with a nice candy-box sized kit of shadows, blushes and lip colors! Love the texture and the assortment!

Now here’s the “After” shot– which is really a different tweek to my look. Now you can see why I go back and forth between curly and straight. With this cut it’s really a precision cut that does amazing things when it’s curly and also when it’s blown out straight.

Two recommendations for you:
1) if you have curly hair and you have the ability to get a haircut from a Ouidad trained stylist, do it!
2) Get that Double Detangler Comb because it rocks! It makes the comb-out when your hair is wet easier, plus it makes raking the product through your hair easier too.
