A Little Background:
–From 1967-1991 Canadian Club hid cases of whisky in remote locations around the world from the Great Barrier Reef of Australia to the North Pole and released clues, through a series of legendary ads as to where these cases were hidden for those daring enough to go looking
–People went out in droves searching for the cases and some were found in places like Venezuela, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Death Valley – there are still some waiting to be discovered
— In total, 25 cases were hidden but only 16 were found – today, there are still 9 missing
The hunt for one of the original missing cases will begin with the release of the first clue on Monday, May 17 at www.hideacase.com.
Manhatten (vintage) ad
Nearly 40 years from its debut, Canadian Club is reviving the campaign with a digital twist for the 21st century. Instead of print ads, clues will come in the form of online challenges, games and clues where you will have to use your creativity, brain power and speed to collect points to move to the next round.
In case you don’t want to go through all this, and just would like some “memento” for your wall, I am giving away three posters from the vintage ad series for Canadian Club– one of each of the ones shown on this blog. The contest starts now and you have until July 1, 12 noon to post an answer to the question on Facebook or twitter!
You need to answer this question:
One of the cases was hidden on an island where Napoleon Bonaparte was imprisoned. What is the name of that island?
Post it to my twitter.com/lastory OR post it to my facebook wall
Make sure you mark it #CanadianClub #hideacase #contest and don’t forget to include your answer. Selection of posters for winners will be random of the 3 featured.

It’s that simple. But can you do it? How badly do you want a collectable vintage poster?
it’s faster than getting through the Hideacase.com contest– but the payoff isn’t nearly the $12,500 per 8 winners. Your decision.
