Marie Bargas really gets into the spirit of Halloween! She got very creative over at Cinema Secrets and got some looks together that you could use for Halloween. One special one is REALLY creative and thanks to Marie, we have the recipe for you to put together your own version of it.
Since 1984, Hollywood’s favorite one stop make-up shop, Cinema Secrets on Riverside Drive in Burbank has served as the “must have” make-up source for professional make-up artists and make-up addicts in and out of the entertainment industry. Hollywood insiders, locals and fans drive in from as far as Riverside, CA every Halloween to be professionally transformed into monsters and mavens for Halloween.
This year patrons are coming in pre-party droves to be transformed into their favorite Avatar:
vampire
The store and the staff are friendly, courteous and extremely make-up savvy. Prices are accessible in these times and it’s a welcome change for customers who are used to buying MAC or Chanel because the store’s own exclusive line of cosmetics is of equal or better quality. After the holiday, you can bet that we’ll be back to stock up on some make-up essentials because we can’t resist products that are “luxe-for-less.”
This morning we came to sample the magic that transforms chic to freak, because let’s face it, “You can take the girl out of Beverly Hills, but you can’t take the Beverly Hills out of the girl.”
Famed far and wide for their own “Woochie” brand of special effects prosthetics, Cinema Secrets provides customers with the option of having their make-up done in the store or buying easy do- it-yourself kits to use at home. This morning, after sipping on a luscious cup of French Vanilla coffee from the convenient carafes at the entrance of the store, we were more than ready to sit down and have some fun with make-up artist Takuo Chang.
Step 1 – Takuo applied a small bullet hole “woochie” to a clean spot on my forehead using spirit gum
Step 2 – My new wound was dressed and texturized with Cinema Secrets Latex.
Step 3 – Make-up was applied in various shades of flesh colored base to give the wound depth.
Step 4 – Cinema Secrets’ own special blood was used to polish off the entire look.
Voila! My newly minted bullet hole was a perfect hit. Couture Creepy? Absolutely! Now to put on the designer frock to compliment my “undead fashionista” ensemble…
Thank you to Cinema Secrets, Takuo Chang & of course, “willing guinea pig/model/gsw victim” Marie Bargas for this timely story.
