I had heard my friend Dawn rave, rave, rave about her Clarisonic device. Yes I knew it was a version of a cleanser with a light dermabrasion effect but I was always sort of quizzical about how effective it would be at getting make-up off. How good could it be? Would it really be better than a scrubbie sponge, a baby washcloth or exfoliant?

I have used this device for a while now; stopped using it and started using it again as a test against control– meaning that the stop time allowed me to see a change (or not) in the texture of my skin and then when I started up again, I could check for improvement.
Talk about amazing. I could feel a difference the very first day and after using a Clarisonic, skincare products absorb really quickly!! I can take this into the shower with me and cut my grooming time down because it’s water-safe. While I typically have sensitive skin, the regular brush head was awesome– so I stuck with that. While I had used it all summer, I didn’t take it with me when I was traveling and that’s where I noticed the most difference. I found that the skincare didn’t seem to be as effective and the sun and wind exposure from 2 trips (one to Hawaii, one to Central NY) caused some damage.
I was glad to get home and turn back on the Clarisonic and get back to smooth, cleaner skin that absorbed my treatment products a lot more efficiently.

It’s one of those critical products that I don’t mind replacing the brushes because it’s just making my skin look better! It became essential to take it with me when I again went to New York (same place as before) recently. It made a huge difference because my skin was suffering from a lot of hydration issues (think dehydation) .
This product comes in a range of sizes, colors and even are suitable for guys– who would love the masculine tool-like efficiency of getting clean faster in the shower because this is a waterproof device.
The other product from Clarisonic that I fell in love with is the Opal. I was late to start this one because I was evaluating the Clarisonic but ONE use with the Opal and I was hooked. Wow! This is one killer product. It does things that I see other devices or products promise but don’t always deliver.

This device might seem like a flibbertygibbet but it delivers visible results in ONE treatment. Keep using it, and it gets better. Yes, it’s a bit pricy but if you figure that you can eliminate some of those other products you are using, you will find it quite economical and long-lasting. It’s affordable and you will be happy that it makes the need for some botox, microdermabrasion, peels and some other OTC products unnecessary.

Yes, I was gifted these products but that doesn’t affect the review. I have been given other products that weren’t this effective and I put these puppies through their paces to make sure they really do live up to their claims– and they do and a whole lot more.
Put this on your holiday wish list. Buy it for yourself when you see friends & family sales on online stores. These two devices can save you serious $$ at a spa and in products over the course of a year — and make you look a LOT better.
