If you are heading down Santa Monica Blvd, you might pass by O-Burger! many times without noticing it or thinking of eating there.
But you will have missed a fabulous opportunity to get the quality that you see at high end restos (or better quality even) in a small storefront “burger joint” with polish and panache. Andy Soboile and his wife came up with this novel idea of getting the best ingredients, the finest quality oil, beef, veggies and buns made up to their specs and creating quality food at a reasonable price with an incredibly fast turn-around. Not only will it appeal to the carnivore, but they have vegetarian customners on a regular basis (Alicia Silverstone has her it V-stamp of approval).
This isn’t just any burger. (been there, done that way too many times). I don’t do “fast food”. I do eat burgers and I know good ones from not so great ones– but usually I am paying $12 or more for those great ones. O-Burger is a BARGAIN for what it is and the fries are incredibly good and crisp without any oily residue. This was one of the best places I have eaten in LA– honestly! (*Water Grill is something entirely different) .
If you eat there, you are sure to see someone “notable” stop by for a pick-up!!
GO EAT at O-Burger!!! You will NOT be sorry. Just don’t bring too many friends or order extra fries because they won’t last long!!

Thank you to Andy Soboile and his wife for their time, attention and conversation. We did get an opportunity to have a burger apiece on the house and we split the fries. It was worth it. I would never have believed that a burger could be THIS GOOD. It’s the best one I have ever had– and I have had lots of Kobe beef burgers at various restaurtants in various states.
