Sass Ashe Has GREAT Tips to Help You Avoid Post Holiday Letdown!
Don’t you just love the holidays? All the peace and love, family and friends getting together and the wonderful spirit of giving make the holidays a wonderful time. But after November and December are over, once the New Year sets in, how can you avoid the post-holiday letdown? Suddenly people are back to work and too busy to get-together. There’s no reason for gift-giving and all those delicious holiday meals don’t fit into your New Year’s resolutions to lose weight. It can be rather depressing.
You can avoid post holiday letdown by keeping yourself busy! Not only do you have your resolutions to work on but you can always pick up a new hobby, take a class or get involved in volunteering. If you’re looking to keep the holiday spirit, giving back is always a great way to do so. Charities, fundraisers and even simply spending time with people at nursing homes or children’s centers are great ways to keep your spirit of giving going!
One of my favorite things about New Years is to try to start the year with a clean and organized house. This can be difficult during the week after Christmas, so it occupies my mind and gives me plenty to do during that week before New Year’s Day. Once the house is in order, the next thing is to un-decorate. Suddenly the house seems kind of plain and boring…so why not start a decorating project or craft project to spice things up a bit?
Really, all you have to do to avoid post-holiday letdown is to challenge the things that make you feel down and turn them around. If you miss seeing everyone try to start a monthly get-together night for games or cocktails. If you miss the great meals be sure to reward yourself for doing great on your resolutions by trying a new restaurant once a month. You’ll find that you begin to look forward to these events much the same as you do to the holidays.
