12 Drinks of Christmas, #1. Orange County’s Five Crowns & Side Door Give You 3 Drinks to Cheer For!

For those who are unaware of this blog series, each day for 12 consecutive days, I feature either cocktails from a restaurant or lounge or cocktails from a specific spirit for you to test drive. You don’t have to “do” anything. I feature a range of cocktails throughout the year, most of the brands featured are aware of my blog and my cocktail/spirits savvy and they want to be featured. Others know I am a bit of a mixologist and I will recommend tweaks to recipe if I am so inspired!

Thank you to Five Crowns, Corona Del Mar and Side Door, the gastropub partner on the same property for these amazing cocktails! These cocktails are available at the Five Crowns and Side Door. Photos for all images are courtesy of Jim Columbo!

The new holiday drinks are the perfect accompaniment to this cheerful season,” notes Jim Colombo, SideDoor’s General Manager. “The special libations created by our mixologists along with our unique magnums will help everyone enjoy the holidays that much more.”

The mixologists’ creations also come with SideDoor’s hand-cut ice program, which features unique ice shapes including special cubes and the spectacular Ice Sphere Press, which creates an ice sphere on the spot. In addition to the special holiday concoctions, the restaurant will be offering its acclaimed beer flights and custom “create your own” wine flights. And all of the restaurants drinks will be available with SideDoor’s inventive, seasonal, and weekly-changing menu, which features small plates portioned for sharing, unique artisanal cheese and charcuterie plates, and house-made desserts.

This is day 1 and the series will end on January 3, 2014 which happens to be the Friday of the holiday week. The range of cocktails and spirits I feature are entirely up to me. Nothing is sponsored unless someone wants me to be creative with their brand and that’s often after the fact- not before.

These restaurants, lounges and brands provide the photos and the recipes as well as me finding the recipes online.

  1. I am attracted to the Silent Night, but I don’t think I like Aperol..I will tweak it just a bit! Love the entire series because you are my bar guru..expanding my thinking about cocktails forever.
