Oh Chelsea! You little twat! Why, oh why, do I love thee? Why do I laugh at your crass, low class jokes? Why do I listen to your despicable antics and walk away smiling?

It’s potty humor. It’s offensive. She is offensive. Yet, I paid good money to see her in Atlanta last weekend for her stand-up comedy show promoting her 5th book, Uganda Be Kidding Me, and I enjoyed myself. I can’t explain it. I get her. I wouldn’t want to be her friend and I can’t repeat any of her jokes. I am not even interested in reading her book. Well, maybe. She has written five. I give her credit for that!
Chelsea Handler tells it like it is. She owns it. She has made a career of saying what she thinks and not concerning herself with what anyone thinks of her. She is a comedian, actress, author, television host, writer and producer. She is pretty hot for 39! She is a total slut. She is an open book. After her show, I feel like I am all too familiar with what has gone in and come out of her lately. Yet, for whatever reason, I love her all the more.
This chick is a total party girl! She exudes a lifestyle of fun and adventure, and recklessness. Her stand up show consists of her telling about her recent vacation to Africa with her friends and she shows slides. These are not your typical vacation pics. Chelsea shares pictures of herself going to the bathroom in public, pants down, doing the deed. Yuck! She shows more almost nude photos of herself in vicarious positions. And, there’s more! I don’t want to be a spoiler.
I will tell you more of what Chelsea Handler is like. She is the opposite of politically correct. In fact it’s safe to say she is politically incorrect. She pokes fun at racial inequality; she says things that are sexist, racist and ageist in her show. She has no morals and no filters. She made fun of her friends, her family, and her assistant. She talks openly about everyone that is close to her. The only loved one she doesn’t berate is her dog. She complained about spending a lot of money on her friends and family, and how she spares no expense for her dog. Chelsea mostly makes fun of herself and her lifestyle. She makes us laugh at ourselves.
She is the exact opposite of me. I am careful about what I say, and I am committed to only stating positive loving remarks. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I am concerned with how I am perceived. Yet, I have a wild streak. This may be why I like Chelsea Handler. She does and says what I could never do and say.
One thing she is very good at is expressing her opinion and she has no problem with confrontation. She just let Adam Carolla have it on her show for not naming her as an example of a female late night talk show host. She showed a clip during her stand up show of when she told Piers Morgan that he is a terrible interviewer to his face during an interview on his show.
She said horrible things about Atlanta and the audience applauded her. Are we afraid of what she might say next? Or do we like a little punishment?
Speaking of punishment, I am still trying to erase some of the images she put up on the screen during her slideshow. Ewe!

My friends paid to see her at Viejas Casino and had a good time a few years ago. I watch her for a few minutes on tv and it is enough. To each her own.
Great review. I’m a fan of Chelsea’s, and have all of her books except for this newest one. She’s hilarious and crass, but underneath is a big heart.

Probably not my thing, but obnoxious is often ‘funny’ to a certain group of people.
I don’t “get” Chelsea. I’m the odd one out among my friends, I know that. And I love comedians… I blame it on Chewie.
