What’s hot for Valentine’s Day? Crafted cocktails; Cooking a Deux and small meaningful gifts so much more than big gestures. It’s all about the thought and spending time together– whether you are in the kitchen together or having dinner out.
Eva Longoria attended SVEDKA Vodka’s Stupid Cupid themed Valentine’s Day party at Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood. Inspired by the romantic holiday, Longoria donned a stunning red dress while engaging in games of pool and air hockey throughout the evening. While the packed crowd enjoyed a special performance by singer/song writer Matt White, The Fat Jew (@TheFatJewish), arrived at the front door as fans snapped selfies with the Instagram sensation.
Guests enjoyed the SVEDKA signature cocktail, appropriately titled Cupid’s Broken Arrow
Eva Longoria was a very participatory guest at this great event that launched the Cupid’s Broken Arrow Cocktail!

Let’s up this ante with some additional tools and tweaks to this scenario. If you don’t have barware, put some stuff that you like on a registry wishlist on various websites. Keep a list of those sites and update them ever 120 days or so. Also check up on those items because these kinds of barware tools go on sale frequently. Worth buying for yourself or for gift possibilities when something is on sale!
Here are some great choices for mothers day, father’s day, birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. When in doubt, barware makes a great unisex gift. This assortment of barware is from Pottery Barn, a great resource for all things kitchen and home for your digs.
The Library Decanter is a rough-hewn decanter available in 3 different colors. It’s hefty size and geometric design is a contemporary nod to classic decanter styles.
I like cocktail shakers. While you can mix up a cocktail in a Mason Jar if needed, it’s nice to have one great shaker and then build a collection from garage sales and flea markets! However this Antique Silver Cocktail Shaker caught my attention with it’s great style and is a great addition to any home bar.
In case that Antique Silver Shaker doesn’t do it for you, here’s another shaker that’s extremely simple. The Saddle Leather Shaker is impressive for its simple elegance, clean lines and leather sheath. What’s not to love?
The Harrison Bar Tool Set is perfect for those who are obsessed with getting cocktails done right. The set comes displayed on a compact rack and includes a jigger, strainer, bar spoon and opener — all professional bar tools into your home.
The only thing missing from this collection of barware are glasses! Here’s exactly what you need:
With monogrammed stemware, it’s a great gift to oneself or someone else. The SCHOTT ZWIESEL Stemware is made of Titan crystal and there are several different styles from champagne flutes to various kinds of wine glasses that you can choose from.
Have a great Valentine’s Day. If you make any of these phenomenal cocktails, please tweet to me what you made (twitter.com/lastory) or post here.
If you buy something, please let me know what you are going to splurge on!
Thanks to Pottery Barn for all the imagery of the barware.
Thanks to SVEDKA Vodka for the SVEDKA cocktail images.
