We all start out the summer with the BEST of intentions. We want a great summer of beach (or pool), traveling, parties, movies, road trips, camping, dinners out, sunset cocktails, music/concerts and lots more. What the reality turns out to be is something not quite in our dreams (but in our nightmares). But just because the summer isn’t full of beautiful people and grand events, doesn’t mean you can’t look the part. You can look fabulous and fashionable with LOFT! This is LOFT’s third series of comedy videos (previous videos included a comedic look at the holidays and new year’s resolutions) and the first time that they have partnered with comediennes in Los Angeles on videos that have a distinctive West Coast flavor. Thankfully LOFT knows that the best laid plans of girls often get waylaid. They created these very funny videos that show life as it is here in LA– complete with local actors/comedians! I will be featuring a video a week for 6 weeks!

I loved this segment. It’s so much like what happens here in LA. We all have higher hopes than the reality of the situation. We dress to impress, hoping that the day/night or event will be so much better!

Ashley Clements is best known for starring as Lizzie Bennet in the Emmy Award winning digital series, “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries,” for which she also won a Streamy Award for Best Actress in a Drama. You may have seen her pop up elsewhere on the web, like on Geek & Sundry’s TableTop and BlackBoxTV or on your television trying to sell you things. She’s the narrator of several audiobooks, including The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet, the novelization of “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.” Soon you’ll be able to watch her singing in a tiara in the new musical series “Muzzled: The Musical” and take a darker turn opposite Fairuza Balk in the film August Falls. Ashley received her MFA in acting from The Old Globe/University of San Diego, so she’s, like, classically trained and stuff.

Hayley Huntley is a writer, actor, and comedian working in Los Angeles and performing weekly on the Harold Team The Dragons at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She holds a master’s degree in creative writing from the University of Southern California and continues to write and perform original stories, sketches, and plays on both coasts. Look for her as a recurring character on Comedy Central’s Review with Forrest MacNeil in Summer 2015.
