It’s not often I am offered a product to review that contains 24K gold especially when it’s skincare. Often when one sees precious metals in skincare it’s listed at the BOTTOM of the list and not middle to beginning. I have tried several precious metal skincare items before and found they weren’t very effective. The only ones I found to be very effective were only select product brands that used copper and had it at least in the middle or higher in the list. I was really surprised by this product. I was very curious about the gold flakes in the bottle. I emailed the Isa Professional owner and asked about the gold flakes. I have had products with gold sparkles in them before. The texture of gold sparkles in most products are that they are a bit like “scrubs” and are rough and scratch the skin. I did not have that same experience with the gold in the Xanadu product. The gold in Xanadu was very thin, small pieces that didn’t scratch, weren’t bumpy but actually once in contact with the skin, they vanished very quickly. I was curious to know what happened to the gold so I reached out to the brand. Here’s her reply
…it’s a great question that you’ve asked! The XANADU serum is designed with tiny sheets of very thin gold foil. The thinnest that can be made with modern techniques. This is what gives it the glittery look in the bottle, that you can actually see the pieces of gold. When you apply it to your skin, the action of applying it to your face and the heat from your hands and face “melts” the gold into very tiny particles. This is why it is no longer visible after it has been applied, and also how it is effective.
So there is a way that the gold is absorbed and can help your skin! That’s a big deal in my opinion.
I used this for 30 days. I liked it very much. I saw more improvement in tone, color, elasticity when I used it twice a day. That is exactly what the brand recommends too. I get up every morning and wash my face and then would put this serum on and then put on a moisturizer and sunblock before I went to walk my dog. I liked that when you use the pump (that is attached to the bottle), you get small drops (and not huge globs) of serum. It helps keep the serum economical by using small amounts and pumping more as you need it.
The serum is light; spreads easily and is absorbed quickly. It is not sticky, and it has no scent that I can detect (realize it’s allergy/pollination time in So. California). I like that when I apply other things like moisturizers, sunblock and/or foundation over the serum, there is no drag. I hesitate to call it a primer but I think it makes a great base for a primer or BB/CC cream. (It does say that on the bottle that it’s a primer. It does not say that on the box. ) The packaging is pretty nice too whether you leave it on your desk, nightstand or bathroom vanity.

(Other products that can’t deliver the quality ingredient list as Xanadu sell for five times that amount of money- and people buy those products) .
Based on my experience with this product and the incredible ingredient list, I would highly recommend this product to seeking to get serious with their skincare. This one is really in class where there are few competitors! Affordable and efficacious, this product offers a marriage of cosmeceutical ingredients, natural ingredients and a technologically sound delivery system for the price of a hair cut. It’s a winner in my book.

I did know that gold was good for skin, but never saw it done like this. What a cool product. The ingredients are all top shelf.
