Happy Father’s Day!! Hope you and the DADS in your family are enjoying the day. To help the celebrations and grilling along, I would like to suggest some specialty cocktails featuring Kimo Sabe Mezcal!
This yummy spirit has a bit of a kick but a great flavor that will work with any cocktail you choose to whip up. In case you can’t decide or want to try something new, here are a few new cocktails for you to play with!
El Viejito
Ingredients:
2 oz. Kimo Sabe Reposado
½ oz. Grand Marnier
½ oz. Ancho Reyes
2 Dashes of Bitters
Orange peel for garnish
Method:
Add all ingredients to shaker tin, add ice on top, and shake.
Strain over fresh ice
Garnish with orange peel.
Paloma (IPA)
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Kimo Sabe Reposado
1 oz Grapefruit juice
½ oz Simple syrup
1 oz IPA (your choice)
½ oz lime juice
Salted rim and expressed grapefruit peel
Method:
Add all non-carbonated ingredients to a shaker filled with ice,
Shake vigorously.
Strain over fresh ice in a salt-rimmed glass.
Top with IPA.
Garnish with expressed grapefruit peel.
Medianoche
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Kimo Sabe Reposado
¾ oz. Kahlua,
¾ oz. Ancho Reyes
Candied hibiscus flower for garnish
Method:
Add ingredients to mixing glass filled with ice and stir.
Strain over fresh ice into rocks glass.
Garnish with candied hibiscus flower.
Oaxacan Rush
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Kimo Sabe Joven
¾ oz. Honey Ginger syrup
¾ oz. Lemon juice
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Method:
Add all ingredients (except bitters) to shaker full of ice and shake.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with dashes of bitters.
Kimo Sabe Mezcal Mule
Ingredients:
1.5 oz KS Joven
4 oz Ginger Beer
1 Lime wedge, expressed
Method:
Build over ice in Mule Mug and garnish with fresh lime wedge
I think these cocktails are very flavorful, fun to make (and drink) as well as creative. This would be a mezcal brand that I think would have lots more interesting recipes on their website!
