Bienvenue, Angelenos!

Come celebrate and experience a party unlike any other at L.A.’s new premiere cocktail bar La Fête, officially opened in West Hollywood on Friday, June 1, 2018!

Presented by IB Hospitality Founder and Restaurateur Rohan Talwar, who introduced the stylishly eclectic Norah restaurant two years ago, La Fête embodies the bohemian abandon of Saint-German, appropriately situated in West Hollywood, the New World’s epicenter for creativity and destination for the hottest parties.

“La Fête is that party,” states Talwar. “With hospitality as our cornerstone and the elegantly handcrafted cocktails, La Fête provides an environment intimate enough for a date, but energetic enough to celebrate an entire evening, begin an evening’s festivities and return to for a final cocktail at the end of the night.”

La-Fête---Bar-1
The bar area!

La Fête’s Cocktail Menu is an alluring coup de maître spearheaded by none other than one of L.A.’s most proficient craftsman, Bar Director Dave Kupchinsky, whose illustrious twenty-year career has seen him grace groundbreaking establishments such as The Tar Pit, Little Dom’s, David Myers’ Sona and Comme Ca, Eveleigh, and Otium, before spending a full year as the Beverage Director at the Freehand Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles and its three interior establishments, The Broken Shaker, Rudolph’s, and The Exchange Restaurant. Kupchinsky continues his cutting-edge artistry at La Fête with his innovative Cocktail Menu, described in his own words as, “A derivative of classic French cocktails, but progressive in a Franco-Californian approach, complementary to the frivolity of La Fête.”

The La Fête Martini Service, served with a sidecar of extra cocktail to enjoy at your leisure and a side of house marinated Kalamata, Picholine and Castelvetrano olives, offers three variations on this most quintessential cocktail, beginning with La Tuxedo, comprised of gin, dry vermouth, absinthe, Maraschino, and orange bitters.

Elegant in its simplicity, La O.D.B. is Kupchinsky’s answer to the dirty martini featuring gin, olive-infused vermouth, house brine tincture, and golden olive dust. (below)

Offering guests, a snappy finish is La Sugar Snap, with Sugar Snap Gin, dry and blanc vermouth, and Kina aperitif.(below)

La-Fête---Le-Sugar-Snap

Fashionably unique to La Fête is the Pastis Service, offering Angelenos the experience to become acquainted with this anise-based spirit that was once so ubiquitous that every village in France had their own unique spin on the simple recipe: cognac leftovers would be treated with anise seeds, infused and then used as an aperitif. As its popularity gained traction in the early twentieth century, pastis evolved, becoming refined and nuanced.

“Pastis is a very interactive spirit,” says Kupchinsky. “It can be adapted as taste dictates.”

Its high alcohol proof keeps this quaint libation at aperitif size, posing as the perfect beverage to start the festivities before a meal, or to lounge and ruminate over the absurdity of life.

The Traditional pays homage to brand founder Paul Ricard with his eponymous spirit and a side of water and ice.

La-Fête---Pastis-Special-#1

For a splash of flavors, there is the Pastis Special 1, featuring pastis with strawberry cordial and soda, (see above)
or
tart it up with the Pastis Service 2, presented with pastis, kaffir lime cordial and soda.

La Fête is not French in name alone, nor figurative in spirit as Kupchinsky incorporates French spirits into the visually stunning La Fête cocktails. These libations par excellence begin with

La-Fête---Le-Side-Piece

— the floral forward  La Side Piece, a cheeky play on the classic sidecar comprised of cognac, Cointreau, and lemon verbena, (above)

–while La Julep ditches the mint in favor of dry vermouth, Cherry Eau de Vie, homemade raspberry thyme cordial, Salers Aperitif, and verjus.

La-Fête---Le-Daiq-

–Starting with Rhum Agricole, a uniquely French method of rum that uses fresh pressed sugarcane, La Daiq incorporates Calvados from Normandy, the herbaceous Genepy des Alpes, homemade triple lime cordial, and fresh lime. (above)

Two libations offer the perfect taste of summer, starting with

La-Fête---Le-Rose'-Fraise-(

La Rosé Fraise comprised of Rosé, Pisco, homemade strawberry balsamic cordial, and fresh lemon,  (above) and

La-Fête---Le-Spritz-(1)

La Spritz, created with Lillet Rose, homemade rhubarb-sage gastrique, Fever Tree tonic, and Cava. (above)

La-Fête---Le-Frappe-(2)

Described by Kupchinsky as

“A bit unusual, a little intense, and with an undeniable mysterious vibe,” La Frappe (above)  is comprised of absinthe, dry vermouth, homemade matcha coconut crème, pineapple, and fresh orange juice. “The matcha and absinthe compliment and tame one another and bring forth a depth that almost makes this cocktail tropical.”

To fully encapsulate the look and feel of La Fête, Talwar brought on award-winning Designer Thomas Schoos, now on his third enterprise with IB Hospitality, including Talwar’s Mumbai based debut restaurant, Ellipsis, and sophomore sister Norah.

“Schoos possesses signature nuances, but he masterfully adapts and blends fluidly to each individual concept.”

Effortlessly interpreting La Fête while respecting the surrounding environment of Southern California, Schoos utilizes a dramatic black marble bar as La Fête’s focal point while tempering the red wall, monochromatic wall art and neutral contemporary furnishings. Verdant tropical florals, palms and orchids adorn the room adding striking pops of color, offering guests a luxurious French feel with an undeniably California lushness.

La Fête welcomes guests seeking a relaxed evening in an intimate corner, or a lively, unforgettable night at L.A.’s new preeminent cocktail party!

La Fête is open Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 pm to 12:00 Midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am. For more information about La Fête, please visit www.LaFete.LA.
