The “Tuned for Any Challenge” Themed Float is Designed to Inspire Everyone to Tune Up
Mentally and Physically to Achieve Their Personal Results that Inspire Confidence and Pride!
24 Hour Fitness’ 2019 Tournament of Roses float, “Tuned for Any Challenge” celebrates both the Spartan athlete — represented by a larger than life figure tuning up for a Spartan Race – and everyday athletes across the nation who take charge of their fitness and well-being to define their lives and achieve results for which they can be proud.
The 55-foot long, brightly colored float embodies a powerful female race participant holding a Spartan-inspired shield, designed to showcase the strong partnership between the two fitness industry giants—24 Hour Fitness and Spartan. Crafted from over 45,000 flowers and standing 33 feet tall, the float showcases the inner workings of an athlete’s body, depicted as a living instrument. She is surrounded by golden lightning bolts to represent the immense energy and passion she brings to the challenges ahead of her. Athletes train all around her, tuning up to conquer popular Spartan obstacles including air hangers, tire flips, and rope climbs – easily visible are two climbers 14 to 18 feet off the ground powering the gears and pulleys that create motion throughout her body.
Riding on the float are three Spartan world-ranked professional athletes and six 24 Hour Fitness Spartan-Certified personal trainers – representing the more than 4,000 24 Hour Fitness certified personal trainers throughout the nation available to support members to achieve their goals.
On the street along either side of the immense float is a team of 24 Hour Fitness group exercise instructors, representing the more than 8,000 instructors that lead motivating group exercise classes and host free fitness parties in 24 Hour Fitness clubs nationwide.

An internationally-recognized New Year’s celebration more than a century old, the annual Tournament of Roses requires some 80,000 hours of manpower each year, supplied by 935 members of the non-profit Tournament of Roses Association. 2019 marks the 130th anniversary of the Rose Parade as part of the Tournament of Roses.
The Rose Parade presented by Honda will begin at 8:00 AM PST on Tuesday, January 1, 2019,
followed by the 105th Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual at 1:00 PM PST.
