As part of Kiehl’s Earth Month festivities, this Saturday, April 20, Kiehl’s will plant a tree for each purchase at a Kiehl’s store or Kiehls.com.
How it works, is that for every transaction in a Kiehl’s store and on Kiehls.com on April 20, Kiehl’s will donate $1, with a minimum donation of $5,000, to Earth Day Network (EDN), the cost of a tree, to help with global reforestation this year.
This is only the latest in the ways that Kiehl’s is encouraging customers to consider and support environmental efforts this year, all in partnership with EDN:
· Product-wise, the new Kiehl’s Made Better x John Legend Limited Edition Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask is raising funds for environmental causes globally, and in the US, 100% of net profits, up to $25,000, of this Limited Edition will benefit EDN, and specifically, EDN’s Earth Day 2019 Clean Up taking place in cities across the U.S.
· AND, We’re hoping that our partnership with EDN will help encourage folks nationwide to join their clean-ups Earth Day Network’s Great Global Cleanup, is taking place across the country, including in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, and we’re hoping all who can, will sign up near them.
EDN was born out of the very first Earth Day: The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. Growing out of the first Earth Day, EDN, the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, works year-round with tens of thousands of partners in 192 countries on global reforestation, climate, and environmental literacy, ending plastic pollution and protecting biodiversity. EDN’s goal is to build environmental democracy and to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement worldwide.
“The Great Global Clean Up will bring together millions of people around the globe to create the largest coordinated volunteer event in history,” says Earth Day Network president Kathleen Rogers. “We are excited to kick off in cities across the U.S. in 2019, and to expand globally in 2020 in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.” For more information, go to earthday.org/greatglobalcleanup
