Faith & Community Empowerment Presents Two Homeownership Fairs
Summer 2019– and They Are FREE!
First-time homebuyers will learn how to turn dreams of homeownership into a reality
WHAT:
FACE – Faith and Community Empowerment (formerly KCCD) presents two exciting FREE Homeownership Fairs this summer for first-time homebuyers to learn about programs and resources to make homeownership a reality for any budget.
This summer, FACE is excited to host its 20th and 21st Homeownership Fairs targeting different ethnic communities. Both fairs are open to everyone.
-The 20th Homeownership Fair on July 27 will focus on the Korean community (Korean translation provided),
-the 21st Homeownership Fair on August 17 will focus on the African immigrant community.
Recent FACE Success Spotlight:
Cain Rivera, a FACE Homebuyer Education client, purchased his first home – a $240,000 property in the Lake Balboa neighborhood of Van Nuys – with the help of $105,000 in down payment assistance. Rivera is only 22-years old, has an annual income of $34,000, and used less than $3,000 of his own personal funds to complete the purchase.
FACE CEO Hyepin Im stated,
“We hope that Cain’s story will inspire more individuals who are dreaming of homeownership, that it is attainable and we are here to help!”

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with mortgage lenders and industry experts who will provide the tools needed to purchase a home. Past speakers have included experts from organizations such as
–the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development,
–City of Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department,
–Freddie Mac,
–Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office, and more.
In addition, past bank partners such as
–Union Bank,
–US Bank,
–Bank of the West,
–Bank of America,
–Boston Private and others have provided their expertise related to mortgage and financial products.
The fairs include plenary sessions covering various homeownership topics (credit, home buying process, special bank products, down payment assistance and foreclosure prevention assistance resources and programs).
Participants will also have opportunities to visit exhibit booths for resource materials, speak with industry experts, and win raffle prizes.
To date, FACE has helped over 10,000 homebuyers on their way to realizing their dreams of homeownership. In addition, FACE has helped homebuyers with over $1.7 million in down payment assistance. The Fair’s theme of Dream to Reality reflects the many Americans who aspire to own a home and achieve a part of the American Dream. As home prices continue to rise, now is the time to purchase a home. It is FACE’s desire to provide resources to help individuals and families accomplish this goal.

– How first-time homebuyers can get up to $90,000
– 0% down loan programs, no mortgage insurance
– Foreclosure prevention programs
– Fix, increase, and optimize your credit score
– Programs to make minor home repairs for Free
