This weekend, Bobby Dee Presents and Uncle Snoops Army will hold their megaNipsey Hussle tribute concert,

Once Upon a Time in the LBC.

 

 

The first concert sold out in 20 (freaking short) minutes which generated a second sold-out show. The 2-day festival is set for July 27 and July 28 in Long Beach at Queen Mary Park headlining multi-platinum artists such as:

 

As you can see, this is one “hella good’ event and one not to be missed!   Bobby Dee Presents has some of the best events/concerts. He puts on a terrific show.

Interview with Bobby Dee of Bobby Dee Presents!

 

 

I was able to score a short interview with Bobby Dee about his company, “Bobby Dee Presents”,  this 2-day music event at the Queen Mary, as well as some questions on how he got started!

Here are the questions and Bobby Dee’s answers!

About the  concert:

1) How big will this concert be? How fast did it sell out?

Bobby Dee Answers ( Will be listed as BD Answers for other answers)
This concert is part 3 and from its inceptions 3 years ago this is by far the biggest and baddest lineup!

2) How did this mega Nipsey Hussle tribute concert, “Once Upon a Time in the LBC.” come about?

BD Answers:
Nipsey was one of the headliners and due to his tragic and senseless passing paying Nipsy tribute only seemed right, he was definitely on his way to being one of the biggest in the world.

3) How important is it to Southern California fans for this tribute concert?
How packed will it be?

BD Answers:
It’s super important to bring all races and creeds n colors together to honor Nipsey and show his tragic passing brought together a whole lot of people. 40k total for the weekend.

4) Why the LBC? Was Nipsey LBC local?

BD Answers:
LBC is the home to many artists and spawned an entire movement– including SNOOP, WARREN G, THA DOGG POUND, NATW DOGG(RIP), OT GENASIS and so many more. Nipsey was actually from Crenshaw.

5) Let’s talk about the line-up? Who’s showing up and are you expecting surprise guests?

BD Answers:
5. Snoop, The Game, Yg, Too Short, Keith Sweat, Zapp, Barbara Mason, Lisa Lisa, and so many more! (Yes, a lot of surprise guests!) Haha!

6) What makes the Queen Mary such a great location for this event?

BD Answers:
The Queen Mary is not only in Long Beach, but it sits by the water and is absolutely gorgeous- day and night!

About Bobby Dee Presents:

7) Bobby Dee how did you get started in doing/promoting concerts?

BD Answers:
My father is the original and REAL Bobby D I’m just his “mini-me”. He taught me everything about this business.

8)When did you realize that you were creating killer events that were drawing mega audiences and mega-attention in the press?

BD Answers:
I started to realize things were happening and I was onto something when I looked out at the crowd and 20,000 people were staring back at my stage! (It was surreal.)

9) Do you work solely in California or do you schedule concerts/tours outside the state?

BD Answers:
No, we have expanded to concerts in Arizona, Las Vegas, Texas, Kentucky, Canada, and Mexico City.

10) If you could have anyone in the music world performing at your events what 5-7 people/groups would you have?

BD Answers:
Ok, in this order: Morrissey, The Cure, Eminem, Chaka Kahn, Brooks & Dunn, Drake, and Future

11) What is the take-away for the fans who are attending this concert? What do you want them to know, to have as memories from this event?

BD Answers:
I want people to forget their problems and worries for the day and get lost in the music and I want people to dance, laugh, and mingle with people they don’t know and hopefully become “besties” (Haha!) Most of all, (that the audience) know that Bobby Dee Presents truly cares about the Fan Experience!
