The Grammy’s Fashion Breakdown: Who Nailed It: Lizzo, Bebe Rexha, Rival Sons and MORE!

This is a round-up of some of the more interesting outfits seen at the Grammys. Some are worn by people who I felt that they had not dressed well in the previous year(s). Sometimes it takes a while to find a good style or fit to make you look really good on the red carpet as well as in photos.  While I love to talk about people who look fabulous, there are also those who either overdid what I can the “fashion sugar” and put a little too much into the outfit.  Often it’s the stylist who is at a loss to find something really stunning for that person OR  it’s the celebrity asking for very specific things and rejecting styles that would make them look amazing. On the flip side, they didn’t put enough effort into trying to look good.

Bebe Rexha:

I love this outfit on Bebe! She’s showing off just enough skin but still is covered up. This sleek, sophisticated pant suit works wonders on her figure.

Camila Cabello:

LOVE this dress she is wearing. It’s sexy but doesn’t show too much. Camila looks fabulous!

Rival Sons:

When have you seen a rock band show up in suits and look so dapper? It’s been a  very LOOOOONG time.
The plus is that they are wearing different styles on different men and still they look FABULOUS!

Way to go, guys!

John Legend:

John Legend has chosen a great look that’s not boring or traditional. Just look at the asymmetrical suit jacket. LOVE IT!
He isn’t wearing a tie but he looks so sophisticated and polished. Well done!

 Quavo:

Also looking spiffy is Quavo in this gorgeous PRADA suit. I love the details of the buttons and sequins on the jacket. The pants are plain red.  Quavo looks fantastic!

Shawn Mendes:

Shawn looks great in this suit.  Someone called the color fuschia, it’s more a magenta or wine color than fuschia. This 3 piece suit fits really well and the details of his necklace and what looks like a pocket watch chain are fabulous!

Lizzo:

Lizzo looks FANTASTIC. She really put her white dress to the test. It’s sexy, spectacular in every way and she wears it.  (not it wearing her).  Her shoes,  fur stole, and her jewelry are perfect for this event and really add a sense of style to her outfit.  The only tiny thing I wonder about are her nails.  The length would make it difficult to do autographs or even to be able to smooth out your lipstick.

Celebrities  that make you wonder what were they thinking:

Billie Porter:

I  like Billy Porter. I liked other outfits he has worn on the red carpet. This one isn’t really one of his best.
I think it’s one fringe too many and the automated open/close fringe on the hat pretty much makes him look like a birthday cake in turquoise. It’s too much going on with the hat, the fringe, the sequins.

Ariana Grande:

Ariana is very pretty, the gown is gorgeous. The hesitation is that this gown is wearing her. It’s overwhelming on her petite frame.  You can see more of the dress than you do of Ariana.  Sitting in that dress must have been a real trial.

Orville Peck and Diplo:

I like the wardrobe coordination between the two;  they look like salt & pepper. I guess Orville Peck didn’t really want to be seen or has seen one too many paparazzi lately. Diplo would fit in with the C&W set. Check out the rings he is wearing!
