Here in Los Angeles and across Southern California, we suddenly have some amazingly “typically California” weather.
After weeks of humidity, rain, overcast skies often parsed out with one decent “lucky if it’s 68 degrees” days, we now have 85-90 degree weather that comes complete with the wonderful sunny skies and no humidity.
If there ever was a remedy for quarantine, this is it. To put the icing on “perfect California day(s)”, I have some tasty cocktail recipes to share, featuring this great vodka, Headwind Vodka!
Every single cocktail I am featuring today would be a great cocktail to sip with brunch at home, sitting by the pool, streaming your favorite show, or chatting with your friends via group phone call while on the patio.

Headwind Vodka Cranberry
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 parts Headwind Vodka,
2 parts Club Soda,
2 parts Cranberry Juice,
0.5 part Simple Syrup.
METHOD:
Combine all ingredients in a tall glass with ice.
Stir and garnish with a lime wheel.
Headwind Martini
INGREDIENTS:
2 parts Headwind Vodka,
.5 part dry vermouth,
Dash of orange bitters,
Lemon twist Ice
METHOD:
Fill glass with ice and swirl glass until chilled.
Discard ice.
Combine vodka and vermouth in glass.
Add dash of orange bitters and finish with a lemon twist.
Headwind Gimlet
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz Headwind Vodka
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz Simple syrup
Garnish: Lime wheel
METHOD:
Add all the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Headwind Grapefruit:
INGREDIENTS:
2 oz Headwind Vodka
2-4 oz fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice
1 egg white (or 2 tbsp egg white)
METHOD:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker.
Shake. |
Add ice, shake again.
Serve in a coupe or your favorite “up” glass.
