Ever wonder why some guys are pretty restrained in their personal grooming and others dive in head first? As a person who used to write a men’s grooming column for a national magazine, I found it very interesting to talk about the growth of products in skincare, haircare, body products, fragrances, tools like hairdryers, and various razors. Most men think that that grooming should be as elemental as using a hammer and nails. They don’t wear fragrances; often use harsh body products in the shower, and skincare is limited to shaving. There’s so much more than that going on.. and honestly a man would benefit from knowing what products would prevent razor burn or cure breakouts, or make them feel better at the end of the day.
The range of products for men has grown exponentially in the last 10-15 years. Where men’s gear typically was a couple of rows of shaving products and fragrances, now it’s an entire section with lots of options for body products, shaving, haircare, fragrances, and a slew of hairdryers, brushes, face cleaning devices, and lots more. The positive side of this growth in men’s grooming products is that there are tons of items to choose from. The negative side of this growth ni men’s grooming products is that there are tons of items to choose from– so much so that some men will walk in, look around and be so confused, they will walk out without buying anything.
Luckily for the guys who are wondering what they can do to change up there personal grooming regimen, there’s a new book out from a man who has tons of experience in the men’s grooming category.
