Don’t Just Wait for the Election Results. Mix Up Any (or ALL) of These Cocktails!

Today is Monday 11/2 and the election is tomorrow 11/3. YIKES!! This seems like a very challenging day… and you might think about drinking coffee today and tonight, but I have a better suggestion courtesy of Q Mixers Tonic! They have provided me with 4 cocktails: 2 for the Red Party, 2 for the Blue Party. Choose your party and start mixing, people. It’s going to be a VERY LONG NIGHT. It’s very likely that the election counts will last a couple of more days. So if you don’t have enough ingredients for these cocktails, I am suggesting that you had to your local market and/or large liquor store to stock up on these ingredients. I will try to add more cocktails on 11/3!

PS: If you don’t like the spirit chosen for the cocktail of your choice, think about switching to vodka or tequila. Want some brand name recommendations? Try Van Gogh Vodka because they have so many flavors for you to choose from. Also try Patron Tequila which has lots of variations in flavored tequila!

Long Night, Long Drink

Ingredients:

· 1.5 oz Gin

· 0.5 oz Lemon Juice

· 1 tsp Agave

· 5 oz Q Mixers Tonic

· Garnish – mint sprig & lemon wheel

Method:

Shake first 3 ingredients & strain into ice-filled highball glass,
Top with Q Mixers Tonic.

Swing State Spritz

Ingredients:
· 1.5 oz Dry Vermouth

· 5 oz Q Mixers Tonic

· 3 oz Sparkling Wine  (Try a great Prosecco, that’s a great — and affordable– choice for your election cocktails!)

· Garnish – mint sprig & lemon wheel

Method:
Build the drink by adding all liquid ingredients into a large wine glass over ice.
Stir for a count of 30 seconds,
Add the mint sprig and lemon wheel garnish

Running Mate Mule – Red

(see below for the photo of the Running Mate Mule – RED)

Ingredients:

· 1.5 oz Vodka

· 0.5 oz Cointreau

· 0.5 oz Lemon Juice

· 5 oz Q Mixers Hibiscus Ginger Beer

· Garnish – 1 half lemon wheel

Method:
Build drink with the first 3 liquid ingredients in a shaker filled with ice,
Shake well for about 45 seconds,
Strain the cocktail into a mule mug about 1/3 filled with ice,
Add the Q Mixers Hibiscus Ginger Beer as a float on top,
Garnish & serve.

Running Mate Mule – Blue  

See above for the Running Mate cocktail (in red).  To make it blue, you need to get Blue Curacao!

Ingredients:

· 1.5 oz Vodka

· 0.5 oz Blue Curacao

· 0.5 oz Lemon juice

· 5 oz Q Mixers Ginger Beer

· Garnish – 1 half lemon wheel

Method:
Build drink with the first 3 liquid ingredients in a shaker filled with ice,
Shake well for about 45 seconds,
Strain the cocktail into a mule mug about 1/3 filled with ice,
Add the Q Mixers Hibiscus Ginger Beer as a float on top,
Garnish & serve.
