Now that the holidays have passed, those of us who are “fashion-obsessed” (and that definitely includes me and many of my friends in a couple of Facebook groups) turn their critical “side-eyes” to “Awards Season” and all the awards shows, movie premieres and similar events.
You should know me well enough by now to know I cover 90% of the various awards shows. It’s a great way to live vicariously to see the allure and spectacle of various celebrities who are walking the red carpet! Not only do these red carpet events help us “brave the winter”, but also gives us the thrill of seeing celebrities wearing the latest in fashion (and beauty!) when walking down the red carpet!
While the red carpet events have shifted presentations thanks to Covid-19, these shows definitely grab the attention of most women (and some men) because it’s a light-hearted event and will shift our attention to a totally different world. My friends often talk about the various red carpet events on a variety of Facebook groups, Pinterest, and Instagram threads. We “trend-spot” the latest fashion trends and designs. Plus we “Ooh” and “Aaah” about hair color, hairstyles, and a celebrity’s makeup!
I am sharing some advance “trend-spotting” from Celebrity Style Expert, Tijana Ibrahimovic, an entertainment journalist, and TV personality. Tijana founded Pop Style TV, a news site that covers fashion, culture, and entertainment. She is the host and executive producer of all the video content. They are partners with Dailymotion.
Trend-spotting isn’t particularly easy, but lucky for us, we have “Celebrity Style Correspondent Tijana Ibrahimovic” to identify some fashion & beauty cues that you can take from the red carpet to make your walk on your living room carpet a more stylish one. With these five tips, you can enter 2021 feeling & looking like a star!

With these five tips, you can enter 2021 feeling & look like the star you are!

Bronzer
Unless you live in a tropical place, your summer tan is long gone. Summer body is probably gone. We share the same problem!
Do you know what celebrities do to feel a little more red carpet ready (In our case, zoom -ready)? They put a little bronzer or a self-tanning cream on their face or body! There are so many options out there, so depending on your natural skin tone or how dark you want to look you can choose the right product. My current favorite is Palazzo Rosa. Intensive anti-wrinkle, self-tanning containing Oil Polyphenols with Calendula, Mallow, Purified Propolis & Aloe. Two hours after applying the product, the skin develops a golden, natural tan. Particularly suitable for the face & all skin types. It gives you a subtle satin finish. Whatever you do, do some research about the product,

Bright Lipstick
Pick a great color & super occasion appropriate. There are so many different shades of red so it really depends again on your skin tone & what works best for you. My main advice does not go too dark or too “Bordeaux” unless you are going for a Gothic look. You might notice a lot of celebrities love bright red lipstick. One of many reasons it is important to have your favorite color red handy is if you didn’t get enough sleep or you don’t look overly rested, it brightens your face & takes away focus from your eye bags or dry skin. My olive skin tone works perfectly with Maybelline Dynamite Red, pictured.

Velvet
Nothing speaks celebratory like a little bit of velvet! Whether pillows, velvet tops, velvet purses… guess what looks great on video, so super appropriate for TikTok or Insta-video if you are ready to break away from zoom parties? You guessed it, velvet! It gives you an opulent feeling of looking super royal on red carpets or border-line movie star at a world premiere. However, I do think it is time to move on from dark red to some cool bright velvet colors.
Hint: I scored this dress on ASOS!

Gloves
It is important to stand out. Lots of celebrities dress very simply, but then choose one accessory to make all the noise. One great idea for this season, & one that celebrities often wear are gloves! Her Majesty, the Queen will tell you. During the pandemic, they are not just pretty, but quite practical too. My current favorite pair of gloves are these bright green Queen Suede 100% lambskin gloves by designer Zelda Farzak
