If you have followed LA-Story.com in the last year or so, you will have noticed that I have featured a new category of cocktails: the RTD (ready to drink) canned cocktails from various brands. Initially, I wasn’t impressed so much because the cocktails are cocktails. I saw them in the market and thought there can’t be anything that great about them. I was skeptical about this emerging trend.
I started getting people emailing me about new brands presenting canned cocktails. I would also see that the presentations varied depending not only on the brand but the spirits too! Some brands presented a variety of the same basic cocktail by using a different spirit for a twist on that specific type of cocktail. I found that this evolution in cocktails made parties, barbecues and holidays so much easier to set up.. and it made sense when one was going to the beach, a park or elsewhere with canned cocktails for a bit of relaxation.
