Cure Summer-time Blues and Kick-Off to Autumn
with a “Chain Riachtion” Cocktail

While we hate to think of this week being the last licks of summer, there is much to look forward to in September. We know, though, that the lazy Summer Fridays are over is more than a bummer. For those of us living in Southern California and other warmer areas, you can still eke out a few more Indian Summer Fridays. but we want to help ease the pain of working a full five days. Enter: the “Chain Riachtion” cocktail to cure your summer blues.
The cocktail featured below is a variation crafted by Danny Natali of Mister O’s and will be available for purchase through the second week of October (including to-go cocktails!). If you want one, you need to order this ASAP because it’s going to end soon!
“Chain Riachtion”– By Danny Natali (Mister O’s, LA)
1.5 oz Benriach The Smoky Ten
0.5 oz Amaro
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
5/8 oz Ginger Syrup*
5/8 oz Salted Honey Syrup**
*Ginger Syrup:
Mix fresh ginger juice, cane sugar, and water at a 2:2:1 ratio,
Use an immersion blender until combined
**Salted Honey Syrup:
Mix honey with hot water at a 2:1 ratio,
Finish with sea salt (one pinch for every ounce of liquid)
Method:
Add all ingredients into shaker tins.
Shake until fully emulsified.
Double strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.
Garnish with candied ginger.

This cocktail is pretty amazing. I am not a person who liked scotch until I tried Benriach The Smoky Ten! “Chain Riachtion”
has a unique flavor profile that my husband and I both liked.. and it’s a rare event that we both like the same cocktail. Personally, this flavor profile is quite tasty and I would welcome using Benriach’s The Smoky Ten to create other sophisticated cocktails like Chain Reaction!
