SKIN
“For this red carpet, it was less about the makeup and more about the skin. Cynthia has been playing Miranda for so long and this character has white hair now. We wanted to bring Cynthia back for this premiere, modern, fresh and radiant.” Says celebrity makeup artist Matin Maulawizada.

“I started using the Pause Well-Aging Fascia Stimulating Tool before it hit the market. It’s my absolute favorite tool. I used this, along with the Pause Well-Aging Collagen Boosting Moisturizer and the Pause Well Aging Eye Renewal Treatment to give Cynthia a little facial massage, working these moisturizers into her skin with the fascia tool, for about five minutes. This gets the blood circulating and takes away extra puffiness.”
-
“After this massage, I applied a generous amount of my new favorite, the Pause Well-Aging Moisture Lock Ultra Hydrator onto Cynthia’s skin, to the face, décolleté and hands. This is an amazing product, super light and luxurious, penetrating seamlessly into the skin. It isn’t sticky or greasy and it works beautifully under makeup.”
HAIR
“I wanted Cynthia to look chic and modern,” says celebrity hairstylist Rebekah Forecast. “But we’re always referencing the past in some way, so there is a Twiggy, Mary Quant-ish element to this new cut,” she adds.
Rebekah and Cynthia met about 20 years ago, during the third season of Sex and the City. They’ve worked together, on-and-off, ever since.“I’ve been itching to get my hands back into Cynthia’s hair” muses Rebekah, who cut the actresses hair, just this week, into this fresh, floppy pixie with a graduated back. The crisp cut works beautifully with her vibrant, red-carpet ensemble, specifically the exaggerated high collar of Christopher John Roger’s orange dress.

“Cynthia has fine hair, so to build up the texture I use the Better Not Younger Lift Me Up Hair Thickener, throughout her freshly washed damp hair (not too wet, nor too dry) from the roots to the ends. I like to apply the product to my hands first (1-2 pumps for short hair) before running it through the hair.”
-
“I then sprayed a little of the Better Not Younger Heat Protection and Taming Spray onto my fingertips, before applying just a little to her ends, only.”
-
“I used a round brush and my GHD blow dryer to dry and shape the direction of the hair. I blow the hair in an upward direction at first, for volume, then I shift to the direction that I want the hair to fall.”
-
“Once dry, I used my GHD flat iron, where needed, to enhance sleekness. Even though it isn’t a shine product, one drop of the Better Not Younger Superpower Fortifying Hair & Scalp Serum adds a super light touch of shine. I also apply that to my palm before working it through Cynthia’s hair.”
-
“Finally, I applied the Better Not Younger Fresh Start Scalp Renewing Dry Shampoo directly to the crown of her head, working it through with my fingers. It fights natural oils and gives stability and hold to the look.”
Thanks to Matin Mulawizada and Rebekah Forecast for all the tips, tricks and ways they gave Cynthia Nixon that glowing hip look!
