UPDATES on Jay Nash!
Me? So yeah… (if you are still reading…thank you!), I’ve been busy. The new Contenders record is mixed (!!) and awaiting mastering. Our calendar is filling up with shows all over the US and Europe. (keep an eye out for tour announcements) This past week has been a flurry of confirming shows, making plans, and booking lots of flights, cars, and hotel rooms for the year ahead.
I’ve also been skiing and coaching a lot of ski racing. I just love it. Skiing has always been a big part of my life and a great source of joy and I just love sharing that joy with the awesome kids that I coach. It’s probably not obvious to most folks, but there are a lot of parallels between skiing and making music. I find myself in a similar state of mind while doing both. The nuances of the physical movements required to play lead guitar remind me of the delicate balance involved with making a perfect turn on skis.
Lately, I just want to spend as much time as possible out of doors. And after so many years of trying to tour in winter, only to have shows canceled because of inclement weather, colds, and flu, I have given up winter touring almost altogether.
Why not just wait for Spring? When the tulips come up, I know it’s time to hit the road!
