Your Astrological Sign Can Give You Ideas on What Cocktail(s) to Drink!
Try the “Aquarius Cocktail” from Absente!
If you are into astrology, this post is for you. Astrological calendars are on a slightly different path than our Gregorian calendars. Astrological calendars are dealing with planets and not just dates, but ways for you to acknowledge the emergence of each “new” sign. While there are a variety of different ways of looking at why the stars, moon and sun seem to shift at different times of the year. and dealing with astrology and the zodiac (Chinese, Greek, Armenian, Babylonian, Hindu, Sumerians, Egyptian, and more) The information about the origins of the Zodiac and the meaning of the different animals or personalities of that zodiac.
According to the Ancient Wisdom site, the zodiac (Greek: ζoδιακός, zōdiakos) is the term used to describe the circle of twelve 30 divisions of celestial longitude that are centered upon the ecliptic – the path of the sun. The term zodiac derives from Latin zōdiacus, which in its turn comes from the Greek ζoδιακoς κύκλος (zōdiakos kuklos), meaning “circle of animals”.
From the earliest of times, the zodiac has been universally used to predict or reflect characteristics of personality, whether from the Chinese, Mesopotamian, Indus Valley, Egyptian or any other culture, echoing the ancient philosophy ‘As above – so below‘… what we today call astrology.
All of the above information is courtesy of the Ancient Wisdom site which shares lots of information. As the human race has several different ways of looking at the Zodiac (the paths of the planets, sun, and moon) the “ancients of human history” created a calendar that has the same goal of tracking the planets and stars across the year.
Modern astrology has a fairly consistent view of the different planets and stars>
Absente is a modern version of the original Absinthe recipe. It’s an aromatic, emerald green liqueur made from exotic botanicals. Currently, Wormwood has been replaced with Southern-Wormwood. Absente be can mixed with water or the classic way with sugar and water using a slotted spoon.
Absente has had a great idea of creating different Absente cocktails and tying each different cocktail to a different sign of the zodiac. I will be featuring a different Absente cocktail will represent the current element (or sign) of the Zodiac in accordance with the current placement of stars and planets.
Here’s the Aquarius cocktail courtesy of ABSENTE!
Aquarius-Cherry Tomato
Ingredients:
2 oz Absinthe Refined
4 oz tomato juice or Bloody Mary mix
1 oz lime juice
Method:
Shake and serve in a cocktail glass.
Garnish with a lime.
The next sign will be Pisces and I will have a cocktail and a photo of that cocktail when Pisces is coming into its space.
Thank you to Absente for allowing me to feature this collection of cocktails. It will be fun.
