INSPIRATION:
“We collaborated on the look and decided to embark on something youthful, fun, and different to accentuate her assets and compliment the dress. Instead of going straight and sleek, we opted for a textured shoulder-length bob with a side part. We thought a more natural, wet-inspired look would play off the fabrics and movements of the dress.”
TIPS/TECHNIQUES
First, I shampooed her hair with NEW Maui Moisture Strength & Length + Castor & Neem Oil Shampoo. Then I used Maui Moisture Strength & Length + Castor & Neem Oil Conditioner and let it sit in her hair for a few minutes to lock-in moisture before styling.
Since we wanted to keep the look textured and wet-inspired, I towel-blotted the hair to get rid of excess water and applied the Maui Moisture Flexible Hold + Coconut Milk Curl Foam Mousse to accentuate Serena’s natural curl pattern and give hair structure, volume, and moisture.
I put the product directly in my palm and lightly applied from root to tip, working it through the hair.
A little of this product goes a long way, but no matter how much you use it does not leave crunch or residue.
I then used the Maui Moisture Shea Butter Elongating Gel in a scrunching motion through hair to create form and set the curls in place.
This product is a great finishing tool because it gives flexible hold, so hair has movement and body, adds luster and a polished shine perfect for a red carpet event.
