Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills Leads a Musical Tribute

Gift for Queen Elizabeth II’s 96th Birthday on 4/21/22

New Platinum Jubilee Album honors 70-year reign – out April 22, 2022

Royals expert, journalist, and historian Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills as Founder of the British Monarchists Society has commissioned and co-written an epic choral and orchestral work, entitled
EIIR: The Platinum Record, as a musical tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.   The album will be released on April 22 and will be on all music streaming platforms.

This year, the Queen not only celebrates the 70th Anniversary of her coronation but also the 96th year of her incredible life. The two-part classical / world music album, composed by Dr. Olga Thomas-Bosovskaya and Anton Van Der Mere, features highly acclaimed soprano Lesley Garrett CBE and baritone Rodney Earl Clarke along with The London Community Gospel Choir.

There will be an Album Release event on April 21, on the Queen’s 96th birthday at The Rubens in The Palace Hotel, directly across from Buckingham Palace.

With a life-long love and fascination for British history and the Royal family, Mills’ vision was to create something truly remarkable to honor the Queen and her unprecedented 70-year reign. He took the past year to pull together the entire project and recruited some of the most highly acclaimed artists in Opera and Symphonic music in the UK for the album. 

The first track on the Jubilee Album, entitled “The Four British Nations,” was composed by Dr. Thomas-Bosovskaya and produced by Robert Emery. Mills arranged the lyrics, consisting of chants and shouts of “Vivat”, “Regina”, and “Elizabetha ” meant to simulate the setting of Her Majesty’s Coronation in June 1953. 

The second track, entitled “(Your Majesty) We Thank You From Our Hearts,” composed by Van Der Mere, who also co-produced the track with Etienne Lane, has a more world music sound.  The song features steel drums of the Caribbean, the Didgeridoo of Australia, Hindi, Maori, and Swahili chants among other regional music flavors that reference the various countries of the British Commonwealth.

On his inspiration for the project, Mills says,

“She is the only Monarch most of us have ever known, and this is why Her Majesty’s 96th birthday should be celebrated in grand style. We can see plainly that she is now frail and not long for her duties as grandmother to our nations. We want to honour her in life as we will in death, and this is why such a Jubilee Anthem is being gifted to the Queen on her birthday.”

On April 20, the world will celebrate the 96th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II with the music of EIIR: The Platinum Record – A Jubilee Anthem, out on BMS Records on April 22, 2022.
