Sorry I have been hit and miss on this blog this past week. It’s been very difficult because I have a lot of pieces, stories, and articles to share with you. I have been crazy busy.
In California, we have had pendulum type of weather: grey, cold, heavy overcast mornings that might (or might not) last all day. I was born in California so I don’t really adjust to weather that’s not a typical “Cali” day.
We have had days where the sun came out around 2:30 and vanished just as quickly. Then the weather would shift to some chilly but sunny mornings that were great and they lasted all day. Those days it was often 60+ degrees and once the sun started going down the temperature might stay about the same or it would drop to the low 50s.
Then the Santa Ana winds came in at least 3-4 times over the last 6 weeks and the dry desert winds would blow all kinds of pollens (grass, flowers, trees, veggies) for several hours per day.
It certainly ruined a couple of car washes I had in the early spring. I skipped washing my car because every time I got it washed and had it looking so shiny and clean, the rain would come in for a couple of days, and leave its tepid fingerprints (raindrops) all over my car.. meaning that the wind and the rain left my car dirtier and wasted the $$ that I spent to get it clean.
It left me wondering if should visit Glen Ivy spa and mud baths as kind of way to give my body a rest.. but Glen Ivy is closer to the desert and that would mean more desert pollen.

I finally saw my MD and found out I wasn’t just allergic, I was sick. I got some antibiotics and
am trying to be very smart about what I was doing.
I was getting so many emails about Mother’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Memorial Day and Father’s Day that I was trying to put together a schedule of what to feature when. I have been writing a lot but I noticed my computer was a bit slow in uploading my articles. I lost a couple of articles.. not because I hadn’t done it right, but it turns out my host had a serious issue that caused my site not to open and would not allow me to finish up a few articles. The problem was much larger than just my situation… but the host’s collection of websites went down.
It was like POOF!!! Things that were in the queue to be published were gone. Articles that had were recently published vanished too.
POPPING EYEBALLS here.
Anyway, I am doing better health-wise. I added electrolyte beverages every day (whether or not I am on my stationary bicycle. I love them!)
I am also working hard to get all the pieces that need to go up done. Be prepared for additional Mother’s Day gift ideas as well posts about cocktails and lots of other cool things! (Don’t forget the sales after Mother’s Day!)
