1. Bacon, Egg, Avocado Burger
Bacon, Avocado, and an Egg… nuff said.

Recipe for Bacon, Avocado and Egg Burger
1. Bacon, Egg, Avocado Burger
INGREDIENTS
- 8 slices Bacon, thick-cut
- 1 1/2 lbs Ground beef, lean
- 2 Avocados, pitted, and thinly sliced
- 4 Lettuce, large leaves
- 1/2 Red onion
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Seasoning, steak
- 4 Hamburger buns
- 3 tbsp Butter, salted
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 Eggs Large
Directions
Step 1
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. Butter each half of hamburger buns
Step 2
Place bacon in a heavy skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until crisp, 10 to 12 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels. Set the skillet aside, reserving grease.
Step 3
Mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning together in a large bowl; do not overmix. Form into 4 patties. Make a thumbprint in the middle of each patty to keep it from shrinking as it cooks.
Step 4
Grill patties on the preheated grill until preferred doneness, about 6 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (71 degrees C). Top each burger with 2 slices bacon and a Cheddar cheese slice; close the grill lid until cheese is melted, about 1 minute. Remove patties from the grill
Step 5
Place buns on the grill, buttered-side down, and cook until browned, about 1 minute. Remove from the grill. Place 1 patty on the bottom half of each bun.
Step 6
Reheat the bacon grease in the skillet over medium-high heat. Crack eggs into the hot skillet and fry until whites are cooked but yolk is still runny, about 4 minutes. Immediately place 1 egg on top of each patty. Top with lettuce, onion, avocado, and remaining bun.
2. Cheddar & Onion Smashed Burger
This recipe will be a smashing hit at the party. More burgers and puns below, so keep reading!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lbs Ground beef chuck
- 2 Onions, small paper thin
- 16 Bread-and-butter pickle, thin slices
- 1 Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 4 4-inch potato buns
- 4 oz Cheddar cheese, sharp
- Umami dust, for sprinkling (optional, see Note)
Directions
Heat a cast-iron griddle until very hot. Layer the pickle slices on the bottom buns.
Without overworking the meat, loosely form it into 4 balls and place them on the griddle.
Cook the meatballs over moderately high heat for 30 seconds.
Flatten each ball into a 5-inch round patty using a sturdy large spatula.
Season the patties with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes, until well seared.
Press a handful of sliced onions onto each patty.
The spatula carefully flips each burger so the onions are on the bottom.
Top with the cheese and cook for 2 minutes.
Cover with a roasting pan and cook just until the cheese is melted, 1 minute more.
Transfer the burgers with the onions to the buns and sprinkle with umami dust.
Top with the buns and serve.
