“Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man’s Fight for Freedom”

Robert Wolf is the author,  an extremely sought-after speaker, and a media personality.

Here is a Q&A piece with Robert Wolf, author of “Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man’s Fight for Freedom.”

Here are some questions we asked Mr. Wolf to answer!

Question: Can you tell our readers about your book?

Robert Wolf (RW):

“Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man’s Fight for Freedom” is a fascinating book, which I hope many will have a chance
to read and appreciate its many important messages. It has been described as “riveting,” “compelling,” “spellbinding,” “immersive,” and “intriguing”
and we have been getting rave reviews across the board so far.

Amsterdam Publishers has been a wonderful partner, and my co-author Janice Harper is a fantastic writer, pragmatic, experienced, and knowledgeable. We have assembled a nice team to help with the many details in producing a successful book. Even the book cover is meticulously done and quite enticing!

Question: Why do you feel a story like this is important to tell?

RW:

The book describes my dad’s family saga through thick and thin, good and evil, tragedy and triumph. Against the backdrop of
anti-Semitism, dad survived two wars, as he occupied and communist-occupied Hungary, multiple escapes, unexpected allies
and enemies, cloak-and-dagger stories, and relentless persecution. He repeatedly outwitted the Nazis and the Communists,
including hiding in unusual places, using brilliantly forged papers, arguing with armed Russian soldiers, and the like. All Ervin
ever wanted was to be a successful doctor and to be free. Sometimes, there was even conflict with that. The book is truly an adventure!

Question:
If you got the opportunity to get your book “Not a Real Enemy” turned into a movie, which actors would
you want to portray your main characters?

RW:

Regarding a possible movie, it would be fantastic if Tom Cruise plays my dad, brilliant and charismatic, with a strong will to survive.
There are many running scenes! Tom Hanks could play one of the “nicer” guards in the Forced Labor Camp, and maybe
Russell Crowe plays Captain Kemeny, a family friend, and quiet hero. Those roles could be interchangeable, or one could portray
one of the more lenient and sadistic commanding officers overseeing the men’s toils.
Natasha Lyonne could be perfect for playing my mom or my dad’s mother. Keanu Reeves plays my dad’s best friend Frank, who was
his wingman during two escapes from the Forced Labor Camps.
I would love to see Adrien Brody involved in some way, as I understand that he is of Hungarian descent. We have even discussed
querying Mr. Brody to see
if he would be interested in producing the audiobook of “Not a Real Enemy.” It would be great to| have
Steven Spielberg direct the movie, but I’ve been told that he is not as involved with this genre.
Outstanding actors such as Joaquin Phoenix, Michael Jeter, Kiefer Sutherland, and Tom Berenger could play some of the other guards,
to name a few.

Question: Where can readers find your book?

RW:

Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man’s Fight for Freedom” is available
at Barnes & Noble and at Amazon.

About:  “Not a Real Enemy: The True Story of a Hungarian Jewish Man’s Fight for Freedom”

In 1944, almost half a million Jewish Hungarians are deported to Auschwitz. Among the few surviving Hungarian Jews from this era
were young men who, like Ervin Wolf, were conscripted into the brutal Forced Labor Service, where they were cut off from the outside
world and ordered to endure inhumane brutalities and servitude. Once freed, new oppression took hold as the communist rule under
Stalin turned friends into foes, enveloped the nation in fear and suspicion, and tested everyone’s character and strength.

This is the true story of Ervin Wolf and his family as the fascist tide of Eastern Europe takes hold of Hungary. FromWolf’s comfortable upper-class life to imprisonment, daring escapes, tragic deaths, cloak-and-dagger adventures, and Ervin’s
final escape to freedom in the dead of night,
“Not a Real Enemy” is a page-turning tale of suspense, tragedy, comedy, and ultimately,
triumph.

This book is available at retailers and online including Barnes & Noble  & on Amazon.. in both kindle, paperback, and hard copy!
