Celebrity makeup artist Mary Wiles prepped Maya Hawke for the Wildcat red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival using skincare from PAYOT.
Maya Hawke may have been in Toronto last night, but her skin was all Paris—PAYOT Paris, that is.
Hawke stepped onto the carpet wearing strapless black Dior, her loose hair brushing against her bare shoulders and her face framed by fringe.
Her skin was simply flawless. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Wiles, who created the “undone French chic” look, shared the source of her skin’s radiance…or should we say “Source?”
PAYOT’s latest skincare launch, Source, is a line of five products featuring adaptogenic plants (Breton Algae & Reishi Mushroom), plus hyaluronic acid, in formulas composed of up to 99% ingredients of natural origin.
By using the Source line in conjunction with PAYOT classics, Wiles was able to take Hawke’s skin to new heights of hydration.
First Wiles cleansed Hawke’s skin with the PAYOT Nue Cleansing Micellar Milk and PAYOT Gentle Toning Mist for Face and Eyes. A spritz of PAYOT Brume Eclat—“It smells amazing,” says Wiles—laid the groundwork for the PAYOT Source hydrators. And Wiles used nearly all of them! “I love to layer the PAYOT products to plump the skin to create a gorgeous glow,” she says.
Wiles spent a solid 15 minutes on hydration alone (heaven!), first applying the PAYOT Source Adaptogen Rehydrating Serum with a brush, followed by a massage using the PAYOT Source Adaptogen Cream. Next, Wiles used the PAYOT Source Adaptogen Moisturizing Eye Stick around Maya’s eye area. “It’s not like a highlighter,” she explains. “It adds a layer of hydration that makes the skin glow more naturally.” She then gave Maya one more luscious layer: The PAYOT Source Adaptogen Spray Moisturizer. “It’s more like droplets of light lotion than a fine mist,” explains Wiles. “It’s much more hydrating, so I used it not only on her face, but also on arms, shoulders, and chest; it looked just beautiful.”
The last touch before Maya faced her fans? Wiles handed Hawke a pack of PAYOT Papiers Matifiants, aka blotting papers. “These are wonderful,” says Wiles. “They remove any shine without affecting your makeup.” Speaking of makeup, Wiles used barely any foundation on Hawke. “Just a little in her T-zone to even out her color.” Who needs much makeup when your skin is the star?
