Latina-Led Innovation at Better Not Younger

 By Marie-Laure Fournier

We’re taking a moment to celebrate the many contributions of the Hispanic community. Among them, one especially remarkable Latina stands out:
Sonsoles Gonzalez, the visionary founder of Better Not Younger (BNY),
which introduced 2023’s most innovative hair product, Superpower Thickening Hair Patches.

BNY, a brand synonymous with hair rejuvenation, was largely developed to fill a void Gonzalez saw in the haircare market based on her upbringing in Venezuela.

“There are hair salons everywhere in Venezuela, and they are always packed. This made me understand the connection between self-care and self-confidence. But it also gave me the perspective of inclusive beauty. Because in Venezuela, rich or poor, old or young, all women, want to look beautiful.”

Perhaps it’s no surprise, then, that BNY created innovative patches to help address thinning hair and boost a woman’s self-confidence.

Each Superpower Thickening Hair Patch is infused with a powerful blend of plant-based actives, including the ingredient Capixyl™, a patented combination of acetyl tetrapeptide, dextran, and red clover flower extract.

(In clinical tests, Capixyl™ has been shown to enhance hair density by approximately 46 percent in women.) The hydrogel patches conform perfectly to the hairline and temples, delivering actives directly to the scalp for denser and thicker-looking hair in targeted areas — 61% of women saw more baby hairs on the applied area after 12 weeks. Leave it to a Latina!
