Fuego Executive Chef Victor Juarez is cooking up Halloween and Día de Los Muertos “spooktacular” menus as “Hotel Maya Does The ‘Maya Mash,’ A Waterfront Smash” October 15 through November 2. The Latin-infused restaurant sets the holiday mood with a frighteningly decorated “Creepy Cabana” with scary views of the Queen Mary – one of the most haunted locations in America.
“Only in Fuego can guests enjoy a scary and macabre dining experience in a ghoulish, yet private ‘Creepy Cabana’ while overlooking the Downtown Long Beach skyline and Pacific Ocean,” said Greg Guthrie, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a DoubleTree by Hilton. “The ‘Creepy Cabana’ is a ghastly themed environment that will make guests feel like they’ve been transported to the underworld for a night of fantastic, freaky fun and frightening, flavorsome fare.”
Eerie props, mood lighting, giant spiders, and cobwebs chillingly decorate Fuego’s “Creepy Cabana” that is available nightly by reservation only for up to 10 people from October 15 to November 2. On Halloween, special brunch specials and dinner menus will be offered along with several food and drink deals throughout the day. Guests can enjoy a live music performance day and night, and dress to impress for a “Best Decorated Costume” contest to win Fuego gift certificates after 5 p.m.
Fuego will mark one of the most important Mexican holidays with a traditional altar for artifacts to remember passed loved ones beginning October 31.
Día de Los Muertos is celebrated on both November 1 when children are honored and November 2 when adults are remembered. Unique Día de Los Muertos menus for Monday and Tuesday lunch and dinner will be available on both days between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The real celebration of Dia de Los Muertos in Fuego will be on Monday, November 1 with a live performance by Rock en Español Vintage3, traditional Street Tacos, Elote, drink specials, and more. Guests can celebrate their loved ones by painting their own “Best Sugar Skull Face” at home and wearing it to the celebration to win prizes throughout the night.
Fuego, the modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge, offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating on the patio area.
