Lizzy Collazos is no stranger to LA-Story.com. She has contributed interesting topics to this blog before. Now we get to see her dive into her passion for fashion. And passion is truly what she feels for fashion, particularly Los Angeles fashion trends. She’s chosen 5 different celebrities from last week’s Oscar ceremonies. These ladies rocked that red carpet something fierce- and Lizzy Collazos is telling us the high points!

A Magical Night of Oscar Fashion
By Lizzy Collazos

Since I would describe myself as a fashionista, my favorite season is “Awards Season.” This means the Emmy’s, the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Each event has a different style aesthetic for wardrobe, hair and accessories which is what makes it exciting. The Academy Awards are known for being the most formal and the couture gowns that grace the red carpet tend to be stunning. However, I will say, this year in particular I noticed a classic formality mixed with an elegant and modern edge which I found refreshing. Trust me, nothing is more exciting than a stylish red carpet.

Here are my favorites:

1. Nicole Kidman

Fashion critics love to use the word “Goddess” but if there was ever one Sunday evening it was Nicole Kidman in her Armani Prive´ ethereal gown which was both feminine and sexy with intricate beading and literally matched her porcelain skin. Not quite nude and not quite blush, this neutral hue was gorgeous. She also rocked a chic updo as well as a bright red lip with tons of bling. Kidman was adorned with diamond rings, bracelets, and dangling earrings all by Harry Winston that included a touch of color with Winston Cluster diamond and spinel drop earrings in platinum.

Kidman also rocked MiniLuxe’s rose gold-hued Sunset Blvd. nail polish on her fingers and toes. I thought the pops of subtle color were ultra-modern and so chic with the neutral shade. Then there is the “low back.” No one can pull this off quite like Nicole Kidman.

2.Chrissy Teigen

CT-Fl

Chrissy Teigen and “that bronzed glow” is just unstoppable. Her gorgeous cheekbones are a style statement in itself. She always looks happy and seems like she is having fun. Her dress was stunning (Teigen never disappoints and I literally look forward to all of her appearances). She was a show stopper with her white and gold Zuhair Murad gown with intricate gold beading, a floor-length cape and her signature red carpet ‘must have’– a very high slit. The white was perfect because it did not resemble a bridal white with its sleek silhouettes and unexpected details.

Her hair was lovely and worn in a relaxed low bun that she accented with gorgeous Lorraine Schwartz diamond and gold drop earrings.

3.Octavia Spencer

Her Marchesa dress featured an off-the-shoulder boat neckline as well as a skirt covered in feather detailing, both of which were popular trends of the evening. The ruched, form-fitting bodice ended in a waist-cinching cummerbund before cascading into a full ball gown skirt, made even more extravagant with controlled waves of ostrich feathers and crystal embellishment throughout for that extra pop of sparkle. It was truly the perfect shade of silver.

Spencer is always timeless in her choices and she worked in detail with her stylist. This is a great example of when an actress knows what works for her.

4. Charlize Theron

Charlize had “the glow” as well on her cheekbones that complemented her Christian Dior plunging, pleated gold lame dress and thigh-high slit. The actress, who presented during the ceremony, was dripping in diamond accessories by Chopard.

Her look included diamond drop earrings from the brand’s “Garden of Kalahari Collection,” which are set in 18-karat white gold and feature a total of 59.9 carats worth of diamonds. The diamond drop chandelier earrings complemented her pulled back ponytail. She also wore two diamond rings from Chopard’s “High Jewelry Collection.” She quite literally shined.

5. Hailee Steinfeld

The Edge of Seventeen star gave off major princess vibes in a stunning floor-length Ralph & Russo couture gown, which featured a sheer overlay and metallic, pastel-colored flowers. from Ralph & Russo The dress had a high, scalloped halter neck and an A-line skirt.

To change things up, I loved that she pulled her hair up in a sleek, modern updo and finished her look with a smokey eye and a bright pink lip. Steinfeld accessorized with diamond earrings and bracelets.

On a beauty note…
Cheekbones were especially prominent on Sunday’s red carpet. Beauty junkies were wondering what was that creamy consistency that many stars were wearing on their visage?
