Summer is a very special time for me and a lot of other people I know. We tend to get a bit nostalgic to check out our favorite treats from growing up . Whether it’s a double scoop of your favorite ice cream flavor from the store you used to visit or it’s sharing your favorite brand of fries at the beach, it’s a great time to indulge a little and enjoy yourself.

For me, I love root beer floats. I have been test-driving a huge range of root beer brands and trying to find the perfect root beer that isn’t too sweet or too ginger-y.. but the perfect balance.  (Of course, I have been incredibly picky too). Why? I have been a plan to whip up an “adult root beer float” recipe that will hit this blog soon.

Less than a month after its 57th Anniversary and National Hot Dog Day, the beloved hot dog chain honors National Root Beer Float Day on Monday, Aug. 6, with the offer of a free Mug® Root Beer Float with any purchase all day on the holiday.

Wienerschnitzel’s version of the famous drink dating back to 1874 is made with Mug Root Beer and Tastee-Freez® Soft Serve to pair perfectly with hot dogs.

The one-day-only offer is good while supplies last at participating Wienerschnitzel restaurants Aug. 6 only. Guests need to show a printed or digital coupon available at www.wienerschnitzel.com to receive the free float.

“We’re proud to be one of the few restaurants that continues the tradition of everyone’s-favorite Root Beer Float,” said Doug Koegeboehn, Wienerschnitzel’s chief marketing officer. “Nothing’s better on a hot day than our Tastee Freez Soft Serve topped with Mug Root Beer.”

As if that weren’t enough for this  August, there are more new things popping up at Wienerschnitzel- new lemonade flavors. And yes, I am a devoted lemonade fan too!

 

            August also marks the nationwide debut of Wienerschnitzel’s two new lemonade flavors in Pineapple and Strawberry Pineapple to join its popular Strawberry Lemonade. Each is made with Tropicana® Lemonade and mixed with fresh fruit.
