No BLOW OUT Here: Jonathan Products to the Rescue!
powered by Audioblog.com
One can hardly go through a magazine or surf cable channels and not see something mentioned about JONATHAN Product or JONATHAN ANTIN’s show, BLOW OUT on Bravo Network.
Given the increased visibility of JONATHAN ANTIN, celebrity stylist, who is seen on tv, behind the scenes on magazine shoots, as well as in the tents doing hair for various fashionweek shows, and on tv promoting the new season of "BLOW OUT", it’s difficult not to be aware of this stellar stylist who has taken tv and magazine audiences by storm.
Not content to be just a stylist –or another good-looking guy– in LA’s world of celebrity salons, JONATHAN has created a hair care line that’s all about helping the client re-create the style that they had when they walked out of the salon and do it at home–EASILY!
Antin is known via his show as being a very finicky stylist. If his clients don’t look good, he’s not going to let them walk out the door that way. His product line matches his demands of both his stylists and his products. JONATHAN wanted a product line that matched his mantra of "simple hair and how to get there" and created a line to match that is clean and definitely does what it says it will.
It’s a marriage of nature and technology–of the organic, holistic with the best of cosmeceutical technology that makes this line easy to buy and use. Based on JONATHAN’s philosophy that water is the most crucial –yet simple– ingredient to achieve beautiful hair, the line is VEGEN in presentation (except the DIRT styling product) and doesn’t have sulfates(to avoid wheat, dairy and animal-derived ingredients), mineral oil, synthetic colors, DEA or MEA. It’s exceptionally "clean". Except for DIRT and FIRM HOLD, the products are alcohol free as well. The key to Antin’s line is the use of purified, deionized and botanically infused Essential Water with either a sugar derived surfactant or sugar emollient system. The Essential Water is presented in four different variations for their specific properties and ability to work within the categories of Shampoo Theory, Condition Theory, Create and Finish.
The bottom line is really key. Does it work? What will you experience? As a person with
very dry, color-treated, very curly, LONG hair, I am extremely demanding and
change lines often and when a product doesn’t deliver within 2-3 applications, it’s "buh-bye!"
With serious skepticism, I used the Moisturizing Collection and was very pleasantly surprised. My
hair –despite being recently colored– came out soft and manageable. The Moisturizing Shampoo is 100% vegan, feartures sugar foam and sugar emollients for a creamy lather, natural botanical extracts, sweet almond protein (repairs and strengthens damaged, dry hair). My hair was clean, but not stripped of moisture and not as tangled as it typically is. ($20.00)
Moisturizing Conditioner is 100% vegan and features almond, mango, Illipe, and shea butter along with sweet almond, silk and soy proteins to repair and strengthen plus Basil Essential Water, natural botanicals of white tea, almond, alfalfa, ginseng, aloe, honey, quince seed and dulse. Antin included
botanical thermal and UV filters to prevent color fading and damage. Add in luscious scents of peach melba and–yum– this is a great product! ($22.00)
I am a firm believer in leave-in conditioners. It helps prevent tangling of my curls and I find it
helps keep the ends from frizzing as well. the Leave In Glossing Creme is everything
I could want/need/desire in a leave-in conditioner. It’s 100% vegan and features Basil Essential Water,
lemongrass extract (for shine), sugar emollients and exotic butters (provides intensive moisture),
sweet almond protein, botanical thermal and UV filgers (prevent damage and color fade) along with a low pH level and a great lemongrass tea scent. It can be used on both damp and dry hair. If you need to increase the moisturization factor, add a touch to the shampoo as well. ($22.00)
Because I have curly hair, I was all over the CREATE CURL Curling Serum. I typically can’t stand serums because they are too greasy or too drying. I dislike oily-feeling hair. The ingredients of the CREATE CURL provide a different sort of product experience. Again 100% vegan, the curling polymer defines and increases curl retention without being oily or drying. Natural extracts of white tea, almond, aloe, Hawaiian white ginger and watercress nourish and add shine to curls (a first!) Sweet almond adds strength to my hair. The technology of this product helps preotect against UV damage as well as provides an anti-frizz factor. The Lemongrass Essential Water provides a nice fragrance while increaseing shine. It’s great for preventing my curly hair from reacting to the local beachy (read wet, damp, humid) weather. Thumbs up on this one. ($26)
I am going to try more products and get back to you on my experiences with this line. Based on first experience, this will be a phenomenal line. Sold at QVC.com, Sephora, Sephora.com, Barneys NY, and other retail outlets, I will definitely keep you posted on DIRT, the Volumizing series, REDO, and the FINISH series..
If you have tried JONATHAN PRODUCTS by JONATHAN ANTIN, please let me know your take on this new line
See you at the beauty counter!
