It’s holiday time and if you haven’t gotten your holiday look together or wondering just what you should be wearing– LA Story has it all figured out – courtesy of NARS Cosmetics.
While smokey eyes are still all the rage, step away from that black pencil, liner or shadow and check out different colors to make you stand out as a glam goddess that you are.
This stunning look is brought to you by James Boehmer, Senior Stylist for NARS COSMETICS. This is glorious smokey eye look with a soft lip that’s perfect for holiday.
COMPLEXION:
Smooth a small amount of NARS Makeup Primer over entire face to prep skin and provide a better surface for makeup application
Apply a small amount of Foundation with fingers, blending to create a smooth, even finish
Using Flat Concealer Brush, apply Concealer under eyes to brighten and conceal darkness, and also across eyelids for a crease-proof and long-lasting base for color application
Press Loose Powder over face with powder puff, then buff skin with Botan Brush to set makeup and smooth the overall texture.
Now that your face is prepped, step up and get ready for some serious color!
For those who want to have a perfect canvas, apply a sheer wash of Albatross from lash to brow– to clear away any color irregularities.
Next apply –with taklon brush or your finger tips, a sheer layer of Nomad– shimmering moss gree–across the lid and sheer it out towards the crease and outer corner.
Layer Belly Dance in the jade shade over the nomad and blend it up and out to the crease and outer corner. Blend well.
Take a push brush or a pointy brush and line the eyes deep into lashes with the eggplant hue in Belly Dance to smoke up the eyes. Make sure you blend it out with a blender brush or a swab. If you want to make sure you have long-lasting color, do one layer dry and then apply a second layer wet over it and smudge up a bit.
For the lower lid, add the jade color into the lashes and then add a layer of the eggplant shade below it –drawn in a thin line. Be careful doing this on the lower lid as you don’t want it to smear on your cheek.
Add lots of mascara in deep black and comb to separate between coats and let it dry to make sure that you have the thickest lashes possible.
For cheeks, keep it really soft and almost neutral because the focus is on the eyes first and then the lips.
Line lips with a pencil for a precise outline and you might want to use Matte Velvet Cafe Con Leche for a softer, lighter hue as a base
or you can go with Hindu Sheer Lip color which is a more of a rosy fig tone.
For that rosy glow, apply Rose Birman (sheer cranberry) gloss over all the lips. If you have used the Cafe Con Leche, it will be very much lighter than the rosy hue you would get with the layering over the Hindu lip color. For a bit of razzle-dazzle, add just a smidge of the Stolen Kisses gloss applied with a lip brush for a bit of sparkling caramel-y pink.
Make sure you have blended well. Add a dash of your favorite sexy girl fragrance, and you are good to go.
