The Silver Spoon suites are a staple in the awards show circuit of swag suites. This one was better than most because it was located at the luxe Beverly Wilshire Hotel and in the exclusive invite only penthouse. Lucky for us, we were able to score an invite.
This luxurious suite offered food and beverages in an elegant penthouse setting that was packed full to the top with vendors with swag and treatments.
First up was the bar that was stocked with great beverages from drinks to sodas and a variety of healthy fruit drinks!
The beauty suite was featuring make-overs from the pro line, MakeUp ForEver line (aka MUFE for those in the know) and they were featuring lots of lashes and intense color for those who could handle it and more muted tones for those who couldn’t. From shadows to lips, they were glamming the celebs.
The other partner in the beauty suite was a new line, Thom Fleming Body Scrub– available in 3 luscious flavors that also do wonderful things for the skin courtesy of some organic ingredients and botanicals. All we could say is YUMMY!

Vinturi was doing taste tests on the Wine Oxygenator which really works!! (yes I did test it out. It makes a huge difference on the taste of red wine allowing it to breathe sooner and the flavors to bloom!)
In the next room was the largest space and it was a blast! First was Hai Elite . Giving out ionic dryers and digital curling irons to celebrities was their main gig.
Single and Sin – two lines from the same designer were there displaying hot stuff from fall and winter collections! Sexy dresses, tops and outfits were on a rack and celebs had the option of picking up something. Single has even launched a children’s line. VERY cute and very much echoing Single’s line for women .
Dearfoams made a splash with shoes and slippers for men and women. Expanding the women’s street shoe line, there’s a LOT on Dearfoam’s counter that you should see.
Dearfoams was also introducing a new Itallian line of shoes called Superga for both men and women.
What came next was really interesting– a “dental” suite if you will. BreathRX was there giving out kits that will provide you serious breath control that’s alcohol free and will kill the bacteria. IT’s a three part system with toothpaste, tongue spray and mouthwash that will eliminate the bacteria and give you fresh breath!
The other part of the dental suite was offering bleaching kits with custom fit trays molds being done on the spot. Friend Barbara Palmer, stylist got her bleaching trays done but I passed and they knew why. I have super white teeth courtesy of bleaching trays. Dentist Dr. Lynn A Jones, DDS was consulting and also recommending a new ultrasonic bubbling toothbrush called Ultreo!
This is one cool toothbrush!!
What’s more interesting is what Dr. Jones and I spent talking about is the www.givebackasmile.com . This website explains what the Give Back a Smile program is all about. It benefits those who have dental issues due to physical abuse or due to catastrophic disaster (think Hurricane Katrina) and have not had dental care or lost teeth due to the abuse. These dentists work for free helping abuse victims and disaster victims get their “dental” house in order by restoring teeth and doing whatever is necessary to give each individual a normal dental appearance. This is a terrific program and the organization’s annual meeting is in New Orleans this year to treat the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I would recommend that you check out the site. They are selling purple silicone bracelets to support the organization.
The next section was a distinctly fun one for kids of all ages!! Care Bears turn 25 and this silver anniverary is being celebrated with a silver and white Care Bear sold for a limited time with a first edition of the FIRST Care Bears cartoon episode that has never been seen before!! So hurry out and get a few of these for holiday and birthday gifts because they won’t last long!!
Saving the best for last– or maybe let’s say the “heaviest” gift for last was from Heinken!! They were gifting the mini-kegs of Heineken Light beer in an easy to tote (well sort of easy to tote. It’s pretty heavy for someone to carry down a hall, into an elevator and across a parking lot. I got my weight lifting in that day) . The Light Beer is a new product launch for the Draught Keg system– right now it’s only the regular but for the Emmys, Heineken pulled out the best for the suites!
So we had a great time and while we didn’t get everything the celebrities got, we did walk away with a lot of information, saw some celebrities (daytime soap stars and cable stars) and had a great time.
