It’s time for Celebrity Style Slam!– UK Stylist Michaela Jedinak’s commentary on the celebrity fashion winners and losers. Michaela comments regularly on a variety of current celebrities at events or about town and how their style chalks up in her typical “call them as she sees them” manner.
If you are a regular reader, Michaela covered celebrity styles for LA-Story.com for the Academy Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, Grammys, SAG Awards red carpet reviews and the Gucci/Madonna Party at NYFW!) and the premiere of Sex and the City!

This might sound belated– but given that I only recently saw Sex and the City and loved most of the fashions. What I felt was interesting was looking back at the way the different stars dressed at the premiere– because one has to wonder why Pat Field didn’t get into the fray of helping these ladies create outfits for *every* premiere because what they wore for each premiere wasn’t consistent in style or fashion.
Celebrities Featured: Kristin Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker
Kristin Davis
COLOR
Hallelujah- we all know how much she likes her dresses and for once she got it not only right but as well the whole look!
The golden colour looks good with her colouring and dress, though metallic gold has been around the block already a few times.
Bodyshape:
The fuller skirt with all the pleats and frills works her for her because she is balancing it out with a boat neck, that is crucial when you are a pear. So, right as well to choose an Empire line in order to distract from her fuller part on the button and lengthen as well her leg line. The loose fit works not only for her smaller bust, but also gives the right volume to balance with the fuller skirt.
Style:
The shoes work beautiful with the look and feel with the dress and add as well a bit of colour with the heel. The open shoe keeps the theme with the off the shoulder look and her earrings keep it all current with the “Star” theme. Not to forget as well about her clutch bag this is right in size, colour and theme.
Overall Rating:5***** Five StarS
Sarah Jessica Parker
Color
W-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!! The colour is a beautiful choice for the event and to wear in NY. The muted colour in her corsage is toning the “steely” look and feel of the dress and balances also her hair colour..
Body Shape
Her dress shape has something from “Wonderwoman’s outfit ” with its’ tiny (exaggerated) corsage line, which feels totally convincing since she played an important part in front and behind the camera. Beautiful execution; she knows how to dress for her shape, occasion and age.
Style
She keeps the theme even going when choosing her bracelets. As always, SJP is at the forfront of fashion by going for a new look: the corsage-look rather wearing something which has been seen and done in one way or the other.
Overall Rating: 6****** Six Stars
