Celebrities Reviewed: Drew Barrymore and Renee Zellwegger at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills
Definitely, black is not her best colour and especially not so close to her face. While there is a credit crunch but do we want see our celebrities seem to be dressing the part? We do expect a sensitivity in their choices and not going over the top, but one doesn’t go all the way by wearing a colour that makes her look miserable. It’s January and a new year with new hope so embody and embrace it in your dress sense.
Renee has broader shoulders and that makes her more to an inverted triangle. Thus she needs to dress her upper body in a discreet way, highlight her waistline and keep the volume, buzz and fuss on the bottom. This mermaid shape is excellent to balance out her broader shoulder line. Her waistline is kept tight and neat. What went wrong? Well, my guess is that she wore the dress the wrong way round: the back in front instead viz versa.I can’t explain this most peculiar bizarre style of her top half.
If this one is for real, why would you wear a nude toned bra with it? It looks terrible. If this style is her choice, wear it with a hotpink/black or red black corsage instead that keeps the style, edge, fashion and flair going?!
Her look reminds one more of someone who is going to a Rocky Horror Picture Show or the image of a woman working at a saloon in the wild west times.
What drove her to step out into the limelight with such a dress, such a hair style and with so little make up? If she chose to go for such a look in such a harsh colour for her she needs to glamorize her look by using stronger make-up rather going natural. It is the wrong colour, dress and style.
Overall Rating: 1* One Star
(One star for the guts to step out like this. One needs to hand it to her bravery- especially in the digital age- it won’t be forgotten. It can’t be erased. It will be there forever.
The Icy blue colour is a good colour for her, but really not right on fashion for next season. It would have been a better choice to have worn a colour that is fashion forward or in the moment rather picking a colour that feels more last season.
The style of the dress is for her shape most flattering. She is long in the waist but with little waist definition, therefore she needs to create curves to balance her shape in order to distract from her waist. Her off the shoulder dress creates curves around her shoulder and bust line. The flared out hemline rounds up the bottom of the dress, which gives her overall a roundish frame.
Seeing everything together like dress color, hair and dress style leaves one just asking : what was she thinking? This style of dress with this colour is so incredibly ageing on her, including her hair style.
This dress would be a typical choice for European royals, but they make it at least look distinguished on them by decorating it with the necessary accessories as royal sash, long with gloves, tiara and not to forget the crown jewels. You could also think she going to a prom in Europe, the dress choice is similar. However she wouldn’t pass with this dishevelled hair style. It wouldn’t be proper. Lastly, one would hope she took her inspiration from the ever-lasting beauty Catherine Deneuve. The truth is Deneuve would look younger in this dress than Barrymore.– but she would never been seen with this messy hair-style. Her image and dress sense is always impeccable.
Overall Rating: 2** Two Stars
(yes, the colour is good and as well the shape- but the both don’t mix with each other and especially not with such a hair do. Having all the help available as a celeb you need to dress and style in current fashion way- how otherwise can the public think you are hip and not out?)
